Twin Birch Golf Club

About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Fantastic course-hidden gem!
I discovered this course while on vacation in Traverse City. Just a short drive away. Course is in excellent condition! Greens were soft and smooth. Fairways were tree-lined but forgiving. Staff was very friendly and helpful for a first time visitor. Highly recommend this course.
Another great round of golf
I just reviewed this course. It's one of my favorites. Well-maintained, lovely, a few tough holes. Conscientious staff. Well-placed restrooms. I had one of my best rounds ever because it wasn't crowded, and I didn't feel rushed. You can't go wrong here. The restaurant had live music. It's very popular.
a lovely day for golf
This course is lovely and well -maintained. Many upgrades since I last played here. I played with a very nice family. We enjoyed playing together. That was fortunate because it was the longest round I have played in awhile. The course has great restroom locations. It has a couple of "killer" holes. It's one of my favorite places to play.
South Florida PGA Hope Player
Pretty good shape. Greens had lots of ball marks….obviously the locals dont feel it’s their responsibility to repair. No Military rates….

Good service all the way around good food in restaurant / Clubhouse / Beer cart gal very nice and condition of course very good very friendly staff 👍😎🏌️
Pace of play
The pace of play was super slow there was 2 foursome in front of waiting for each other to finish than move to next hole. Never saw a ranger or even a beverage cart the course as busy than Dan out of carts
Slow slow slow you need an ranger during the week please
Nice scenic course
Course is in great conditions. Not too busy. Always like playing there.
Tight fairways
Thought the course was a solid bang for your buck and was very impressed with the conditions. I feel like it was unfairly tight though. You need to be on your A game to score well here. I liked the layout otherwise though and love the clubhouse too. Though the “no clubhouse at the turn” rule really takes away from that.
Great Value! Fun course!
First time here. Walked 18. Neatly groomed holes, greens were well taken care of. Beautiful layout. Technical with all the trees, you have to stay in the fairway. Friendly staff, great bar and restaurant. The patio is dog friendly, there is a walking trail along the golf course, live music set up and a sand box for the children to play in.
Driving range is a bit short. Being able to hit your driver is not guaranteed. But otherwise nice small range with a chip and putt practice area.
Overall 10/10 would come again.
