2nd Time Play at Castle Creek
Second time we played at this course. I really like it. Well maintained and clean. It has challenging holes. The only issue was the pace of play. We booked a round of 18 holes. However we quit after 9 holes as it took us a bit over 3 hours to finish 9 holes due to slow teams ahead of us and nobody directing pace of play. A bit frustrating but will not prevent me from going back. The day before we played 18 holes in just under 3 hours there.
Castle Creek
Played there with my son for the first time on 4/15/25. Very nice experience then. Very clean and well maintained. Overall very good experience. We decided to go back next day 5/15/25. Except of the pace of play all was good. We planned to play 18 holes but quit after 9 holes as the pace was frustratingly slow on 5/15/25 ( today). No ranger or Marshall to improve the situation
Great Country Golf!!
Castle Creek is always a great place to play. Well taken care of.
Pace of play
We had a 1pm tee time and when we started at 1pm there were two groups on the par 4 first hole. A couple of ladies were just teeing off. We were supposed to play 18 holes but quit after 9 holes.
Best in Lapeer county
Fun course, it's amazing how improved this course has become over the years.. well groomed, my go to course
You can tell
Wow… this course is in by far the best shape it has been in the last 6 years I’ve been playing it. It’s always been a drier fairway course with decent greens… well the fairways were the best I’ve seen them… now don’t get it confused with a high end country club… but you can tell they have put the work in… a lot of the little family courses up in this area were hard hit with the weather this year and they’ve addressed whatever problems they’ve had and it is a lot better. Again this is not a high end ready to host the us open course… but the track is beautiful with trees.. lots of woods… lots of wildlife… I laid back as a single golfer behind a few groups that kept asking if I wanted to play through… and I kept saying I was in no hurry… there was nobody within 4 holes behind me the entire time and still got done within 3.5 hours . Two cigars a few beers saw a few deer and a beautiful day.
Challenging fun course
First bring a lot of balls. It’s a fun course but if you hit off line it’s hard to find your ball. They also didn’t have the flags setup correctly. Some red flags were in the back and blues in the front. Made learning the course that much harder.
Golf after labor day
I shot better on back nine than the front. Fairways not cut short enough.
Love this course!
The course is awesome, lot's of fun obstacles and the greens are challenging in a good way. Pro shop staff not so friendly though. Overall I give it an 8 of 10!
