Beautiful fairways
After playing this course for the first time in 16 years, my opinion of this course has changed 180 degrees. Back then I never wanted to play here but now I would come back anytime. Good job Metroparks!!
A not so hidden Gem
This course is by far the best value on the dollar of any course I've played in Metro Detroit. Quiet setting, picturesque, and what appears to be a low volume of play. Greens are huge and immaculate. Fairways are well defined and generous (most holes). And you will hit Driver on almost every 4/5. If that wasn't enough, they have just rebuilt every bunker on the course, and they are quite large.
Very Fair Test - Scorable
First time playing Huron Meadows. Won't be the last. Course in very good condition. Some room off the tee. Greens in good shape, ball rolls well, nice speed. Very friendly staff. Good prices for food, drinks. Slre
Beautiful scenery
This course is very nice, also the greens were perfwct and the course well maintained. The course is challenging yet fair for the golfer to enjoy
Long but forgiving
My favorite of the metro park courses,. Well kept, some nice views, challenging greens, different elevation. Playing the white tees is a bit longer than most middle tees at 6400 yards, but pretty forgiving.
if only it were a little closer
If you regularly play Kensington or Hudson Mills and haven't played here, you should give it a shot. I find it to be as good as Kensington and like it more than Hudson Mills. It's pretty straight forward, but always well-maintained. Undulating greens, a lot of length and elevation changes keep it interesting and challenging. It's always in good shape and seems to deal with water better and more quickly than a lot of the courses in the area. I have to pass Kensington to get there, but they were even close to the same distance, I'd play Huron Meadows far more often.
Superior Course
Course was well groomed and watered. Greens perfect. Extremely friendly staff especially David who checked us in. Thanks for a perfect day. 4th of July 2015. Bunkers are a little bit gravelly not enough sand.
Play this golf course.
This course is well taken care of, has affordable rates and offers many different types of challenges from front to back nine.
Great Course, Well maintained.
This was a very well maintained course. Greens were great, sand was nice. The rough was shaved down pretty low. Almost like a semi rough. This made the course play a little easier than it could have been. I shot a 78 which is my best 18. There is space for your misses(it won't kill your round to hit one a little bit off center.) It rained a little bit before I played so the greens were not super fast, I would imagine they would be generally. Overall it's one of the nicer courses I've played. Better than: Hilltop, Whitmore links, Leslie Golf Course, Ann Arbor Country Club, Huron Hills, and many others. Comparable to Stonebridge if you've played there.
Great course, highly suggested.
Poorly run, but what do you expect from government?
We were told that there were no carts available when we arrived-- even though we had paid for 18 w/cart online. We waited around for almost an hour, then decided to walk the front and ride the back, as we were assured that carts would be available then.
Staff was largely unapologetic for the cart mess, blaming it on "dead batteries" (why this had just come to their attention remains a mystery--sort of). A privately owned course would have resolved this issue well before opening for play, but this is the kind of streamlined efficiency I've come to expect from government at all levels.
In fairness, once we got on the course we played it in just over 4 hours.
Slow slow slow
4th bad experience at metro park golf course this year with slow play. Course not horribly busy no managing of course and slow play. Seems to be the same way at most other metro park courses. Round took over 5 hours.
Love the course
Love the course it's always fun to play there.the green are in great shape every time I've played there an so is the rest of the course
Highly recommended
Challenging course in excellent condition. Greens have some undulation and par 3's offer good length. Course good for all level of play as most holes a little forgiving on stray shots. Great practice facilities. Would recommend it to any level of golfer.
Very slow pace course
Played here several times and is always crowded. Pace is very slow because no pairing and walking all over the course.if you like slow and long wait between shots, it's a good value.
great course
this course is in perfect shape greens roll perfect
visually great course. if you don't tee off early (before 7) it looks like it could be a slow round
golf
huron meadows was a stunning beauty I just wish people would repair there divots on the greens. it's just good etiquette.
Another Nice Metro Course
Like the other Metro Park Courses I've played, it's well maintained and a pleasure to play.
No complaints here!
Good course overall
Played as a pair with my girlfriend. Was paired up on the front, played as a duo on the back. There was a 3 some in front of us who held us up even as a 4 some with no one in front of them. Ranger was through twice but just drove on by without asking any questions. Saw the beer cart multiples times, which was nice given the high temps/sun.
Course itself is tough but fair. Greens are immaculate. Only complaint of sorts is the sand in the bunkers. Lots of small stones and a few big ones. Deep sand bed, though. Practice facilities are top notch. Lots of doglegs each way and plenty of hills/valleys. Views on the course are really nice. Lots of wetlands and woods to gaze at.
Nice Course
well maintained, true greens, nice facilities. will golf again
Overall great experience
Everything about the course was top notch . The greens especially were the best I have played . The staff went beyond call of duty and let a couple of us play 9 more holes for just 10 bucks . This is definitely in my top 3 golf experiences ever , just wish course was closer to home.
