Poorly run, but what do you expect from government?
We were told that there were no carts available when we arrived-- even though we had paid for 18 w/cart online. We waited around for almost an hour, then decided to walk the front and ride the back, as we were assured that carts would be available then.
Staff was largely unapologetic for the cart mess, blaming it on "dead batteries" (why this had just come to their attention remains a mystery--sort of). A privately owned course would have resolved this issue well before opening for play, but this is the kind of streamlined efficiency I've come to expect from government at all levels.
In fairness, once we got on the course we played it in just over 4 hours.
Slow slow slow
4th bad experience at metro park golf course this year with slow play. Course not horribly busy no managing of course and slow play. Seems to be the same way at most other metro park courses. Round took over 5 hours.
Love the course
Love the course it's always fun to play there.the green are in great shape every time I've played there an so is the rest of the course
Highly recommended
Challenging course in excellent condition. Greens have some undulation and par 3's offer good length. Course good for all level of play as most holes a little forgiving on stray shots. Great practice facilities. Would recommend it to any level of golfer.
Very slow pace course
Played here several times and is always crowded. Pace is very slow because no pairing and walking all over the course.if you like slow and long wait between shots, it's a good value.
great course
this course is in perfect shape greens roll perfect
visually great course. if you don't tee off early (before 7) it looks like it could be a slow round
golf
huron meadows was a stunning beauty I just wish people would repair there divots on the greens. it's just good etiquette.
Another Nice Metro Course
Like the other Metro Park Courses I've played, it's well maintained and a pleasure to play.
No complaints here!
Good course overall
Played as a pair with my girlfriend. Was paired up on the front, played as a duo on the back. There was a 3 some in front of us who held us up even as a 4 some with no one in front of them. Ranger was through twice but just drove on by without asking any questions. Saw the beer cart multiples times, which was nice given the high temps/sun.
Course itself is tough but fair. Greens are immaculate. Only complaint of sorts is the sand in the bunkers. Lots of small stones and a few big ones. Deep sand bed, though. Practice facilities are top notch. Lots of doglegs each way and plenty of hills/valleys. Views on the course are really nice. Lots of wetlands and woods to gaze at.
Nice Course
well maintained, true greens, nice facilities. will golf again
Overall great experience
Everything about the course was top notch . The greens especially were the best I have played . The staff went beyond call of duty and let a couple of us play 9 more holes for just 10 bucks . This is definitely in my top 3 golf experiences ever , just wish course was closer to home.
Huron Meadows - a super golf experience
Huron Meadows is a fantastic course. It is beautiful and you can score on it. Each hole is its own. It is my favorite course to golf in southeast Michigan. The maintenance is excellent. Pace of play is second to none.
Huron Meadows
Excellent course for the money. Playable and challenging. Pace of play was perfect and the group behind us never caught up to us. Course management is a must and a GPS app is helpful in negotiating some of the trouble. You won't need to bust out your driver on every hole, but shots still need to be placed in the right areas. The par 5's provide challenges for the lack of length with forced carries around trees and bunkers on the dog legs and a narrow green from front to back on one of the par 5's provides real challenges for shots hit over the back.
great metropark course
I liked everything about this course, it has a wide open relaxed feel to it with a nice layout, the day was perfect for us as the course was not crowded and we moved along at a nice pace, looking forward to playing this course again although it is over an hour away from me.
huron meadows
Course was in great shape. Greens were excellent very smooth. Staff was friendly as alyways. Couldn't ask for a better golf experience.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
This is one of my favorite courses to play. It challenges your playing skills. Will play here again!
Tournament Condition
Huron Meadows is one of the nicest courses in the area! Great condition! Long par fours!
hidden gem
One of the best courses in southeastern Michigan.difficult but forgiving
great condition
$25 to ride, course was in great shape, greens were rolling very nice.
Great course for the price
Course is in great shape. Friendly Staff. Only complaint is pace of play... having a course ranger to keep play moving would have been helpful. Other than that overall experience was excellent.
