Many Fairways were like a cow pasture
I like this course, when they cut the grass.
When we played yesterday we have difficulty finding our ball in the fairway because some had not been cut in awhile.
For the money we were very disappointed.
Thought about asking for a partial refund for partially manicured course but in the end decided just not to go back.
Great Time
Great hidden gem. They just opened, but had the Course already looking nice. Played here for years and the changes over the past few years have been fantastic, they even have new carts. Best value for the money and a wonderful staff. Just try it once and you'll be hooked.
Great place to play golf
I try to get a couple of rounds in here every year. For the most part, the course is not really busy, on weekdays, which is when I generally go. All of the par 3's have some danger, Some of the par 4's require a little bit of skill to avoid getting into trouble, while the par 5's are long and need some good distance shots. The staff in the clubhouse and grill are great.
Good golf afternoon
great day on the course, restaurant reasonable
Great golf outing!
Quick pace of play, only waited once for about 5 minutes! Lots of cold water stations for a very hot day! Had a nice time!
Belle River
Course in great shape, especially the greens. Clubhouse was very accommodating. Overall, great experience!
Fairways need mowing, but the greens are great.
Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Fairways were pretty scraggly but playable. Very impressed with greens. Moderate speed, but rolled true. My husband and I had a very enjoyable round.
Treated like I owed them something.
Nice course layout, manager wouldn't budge on tee time even though I was early. Pace of play was terrible and the manager could have alleviated that some by letting me go out alone. 5.5 hours for 18 holes isn't worth the money saved on golf now. I would be careful on using golfnow on this course. I sat in my car for a half hour and watched 2 people tee off on 10. I could have started on ten. Courses who don't use their head are usually slow during the week. My guess is this course has very little business mon through thursday. Bad experiences on the weekend cost these courses money. Probably why the flags looked 10 years old. Cost money to buy new ones.
Great place
Great seenery good golf course for the average player.
Exceeded Expectations
After reading previous reviews, I didn't have high hopes. But it was a great deal, so I tried it out.
Conditions were nice. Fairwayss were forgiving, yet some set up some nice challenges. The greens rolled true. I'd consider it a scenic course. The clubhouse was nice, hot dogs delicious, cart girls gracious.
I'll certainly return to Belle River again
Great features on Cource
The course is in great shape !fairways are tite , need plenty of balls if u have s slice or hook looking forward to playing. Here again next week
Mighty Belle
It was a $10 Hot Deal at 2:28pm. Our twosome finished by 5:00pm.
It's a fun course but you need to play there more than once if you want to score.
nice course
Interesting but n it terribly hard. Shorter ourselves but left and right turns makes up for shortness. Greens a bit slow and because.
Wide open
Wide open fairways. The greens are a little slow maybe they needed to be cut on the day on the day we played. Overall a very pretty courses.
more than worth the money, nice course, challenging but manageable
Great course for the money, been golfing there for years and the course has always been in great shape
Great course with a mom and pop feel.
This course is a little slice of heaven located about an hour north of Detroit. At first glance, it appears to be a cut out farm field, but you soon realize that this place has an up north feel. The front nine was typical of a south Michigan course, however, the back nine left you feeling well north. Starting with a par five and ending in a par three, this course plays well for the novice golfer and is very suitable for the twice a year adventurist. Very friendly staff and full amenities in the club house. I will return soon.
Great Value and great staff.
Have been playing this course regularly this summer. It is challenging enough for my husband who plays very well and also open enough for me to enjoy him teaching me the game. Well maintained with friendly staff.
Overall a good course, some issues during our visit
This was my second time visiting the course. The online booking didn't process through. It took 5 minutes or so to sort it out in the club house. Luckily I had proof of booking and paying online. They actually had a large group ready to go out and placed us in front of them. So we had a group behind us pushing us the whole course.
The course itself was okay, most fairways are in decent shape. It rained hard the day before and some fairways were almost muddy in some spots. One spot I stepped on grass in front of the green and muddy water bubbled up around me. Most of the greens were in poor shape. The ground crew was busy working cutting grass on many holes. When I had goofed up a shot and went off track you really felt like the ground crew didn't want you to hit and just pick up the ball! I understand they had things to get done, but with keeping pace with a three sum behind us in the large group and waiting to do a shot, it wasn't as enjoyable as my first visit.
Overall the experience was okay and the course does have some fun challenging holes that even a experienced golfer would enjoy. I highly recommend calling before you go if you book online and ensure they have you on the books!
