Mr E
Nice course, with a perfect pace and good conditions, considering last nights rain.

Over booked. Frost delay. Took 6 hours to play 18, no food. Save your money and play anywhere else
Nice course
This is a great little course. There are quite a few challenging holes, and it’s well maintained. It’s nice to see the owners putting in the money and effort to keep the course looking and playing great.
nice course, tuff to play.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Carts are clean and ready for use. Nice practice facilities including the driving range and the putting Green. The course is well laid out with different challenges on every hole. You are rewarded for accuracy and pay the price for poor shots or club selection. Overall it is one mine and my wife’s favorite courses to play.
Fastest greens ever!
They were rolling true and they haven’t been aerated yet so it was perfect.
Hazard of a Single Player
Salem Hills is a good course and it was in good condition. Greens were perfect. My issue is how a lone player is treated. I purchased a tee time at 9:28 am for a single player. If that time had not been available I would have gone somewhere else. As the tee time approached the starter left me and talked to three guys queued to go to the tee. Suddenly, another guys walks up and joins them. The starter talks to them for awhile and then comes up to me and says “You’re going to have to go by yourself. They reserved as a threesome but a fourth showed up.” I was not pleased as the course was filled with foursomes. This is the third time this has happened to me and it is an issue that needs to be addressed. I understand that it is easier to tell the single to play alone but it is not really fair. As I said, if I thought I was going to play by myself, I would have gone to a different course. I cannot give a good rating to this course because of this.
Great
I’ve heard for a while that it’s a nice course, but never played it until today. Played the back 9 before a league, so no one was in front of me. Fun layout and beautiful scenery, big and tough greens. It’s the type of course that I’d like to play over and over for years to come.
Racism
Today when visiting the ranger to check-in he called the threesome I was paired with, “orientals”. I was taken a back, not sure how to react, my tee time wasn’t for 30 min so I went to hit a bucket before playing. After I finished I checked back in with the ranger and this when he pointed out the threesome he paused before calling the people.
Later in the round on the 13th hole, a different ranger approach us as we were getting off the green. He was not in any identifying clothing other than a hat which said Salem Hills on the side. Instead of being polite he launched into threesome that they needed to hurry up. The way it happened screamed racist. No way he goes a group of white golfers like that. After our round I asked the foursome behind us and they never concerned with our play.
It was unfortunate those incidents happened. I did bring it up to the Club Manager who said he would address it and promised to call me back. He also said that has never happened before. Well as easily as the racial slur came off the tounge of the first ranger it was clearly not his first time using the word.
I will give them a second chance but if I sense any ounce of it next time. It will be the last time and I’ll do more the leave a review on GolfNow.
Fair course for women
This is the second time this summer that I have played here. It's a fair course for women. There aren't really any tricked up holes, which is nice. The ladies' tee boxes could be more level, though.
Fun course, pace of play has been rough all summer.
Stacking the tee times a little to close together given skill of average golfer visiting this course. Pace of play ok most of the time, but a few times I have played two holes on the front 9 only to end up behind 3 groups waiting to tee off on #3. Starter and Rangers need to better manage the tee times going off so it does not get all jammed up sometimes.
