Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course

About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Bad organization
This was my first time playing this course and my cousins second.
There was a group of 36 golfers who had an outing and they were even complaining about how their time was managed.
Overbooking and bad organization seem to be a theme at the myth. The course was maintained well and no issue with the clubhouse itself but when you are booked for 2:00pm and have to wait as long as we did to tee off, it’s quite off putting.
The worst part of this whole scenario was when one of the golfers from the outing asked if they can join another group of 2 and finish the last hole together so they can let the new groups all go at once instead of butting in and stopping the flow. The gentleman who was representing the clubhouse made a comment about how he watched them play a hole earlier in the day insinuating they were slow. Very disrespectful and honestly annoying considering that all of us golfers were ok with it and wanted to let them finish their round.

lil myth
Awesome place to get some short game practice in. Pace of play is great and the course is fairly challenging.
Super Friendly staff and course
First time playing there. Played the par 3 with my wife, it was her first time golfing. Staff was great and friendly, course was perfect for beginner golfers.
Many improvements since last vist
Many improvements to course since last visit in 2019. Greens are beautiful, new carts. Staff was friendly. Coming back soon.
Scope for improvement
The course has an up north feel with wooden bridges connecting holes. It is built on a swamp with a lot of care for the environment which I appreciate. However the tee boxes need work as it difficult to find a flat area. The greens need to be sped up they’re extremely slow and for golfers used to fast greens this is a problem.
The holes are challenging and varied and presents a good challenge.
Be sure to have enough balls as it is quite easy to lose them if you are not accurate
The other Vargo golf courses of Hampton and Bruce Hills have much nicer greens

Slow Saturday
Painfully slow on a Saturday morning. Just under 3 hours to play the front - we just gave up and left without playing the back. Unfortunately, there’s not much the rangers can do. Too many short, tight par 4s so groups never spread out. Several times the group behind us rolled up to the tee just as the group ahead was leaving. Half the tee boxes are just trashed and I can’t figure out why since rest of the course is well maintained. Could be a fun course on a weekday, but I won’t be back on a weekend. On the plus side, they just got brand new carts! Please fix the tees!
