The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Worst Golf Experience

The old saying is true, "you get what you prepay for." Trying to celebrate women's golf day so i bought a 9 hole prepaid round for $20 includes cart. Those were the worst 9 holes I've ever played. The condition of the tee boxes, cart paths, fairways and greens where terrible. Unable to uplaod video and photos.

Just An Average Course

My friend and I booked this course last minute for $40 and we both agreed that we wouldn’t come back. It’s not a horrible course, but there are so many other options we like better. A few issues:

- The cart paths are either non existent or super old/wobbly. There are a lot of bridges that are ok horrible condition and the steps to the tee boxes are in awful shape.

- The holes are far too close to each other. It’s super easy to hit your ball onto another hole and the greens sometimes are super close together. However, I did love the 10th hole Par 3. Very cool hole

- Tee boxes... they are god awful. Zero excuse to have them be in such bad shape. A lot of them have almost no grass and most are not flat

Awesome staff!!

The Myth GC will present a challenging round (in a positive way) from the tee boxes to the greens. Overall, the course was in very good condition with the exception of a couple tee boxes.

The staff at The Myth is incredible! I have a minimum of 4 golf courses that are closer to my house but don’t mind the extra drive because they treat me so well. I would like to thank Matt, Lauren and Drake for providing such a great golfing experience this year.

First time and last player review

The tee boxes were horrible, played the PAR 3 course and not well maintained at all. It was just a step above miniature golf, maybe

Tee boxes and Greens

The Myth has the absolute worst tee boxes I've ever seen. Most tee shots are either above or below your feet AND the tee boxes are dirt instead of grass. We played from the white tees. Also the course has the most ridiculous greens I've ever played. Not a flat spot on most greens and holes were cut on steep hills. Several times solidly struck putts would roll up to the hole and then right back to your feet. I won't need a reminder not to play the course agaIn.

The myth par 3

It’s a par 3 course so, short quick rounds. Only 9 holes, but for $10 doesn’t get much better for a warm up. I’d like to see some sort of small fairway for some of the longer holes. The greens are challenging as well as some of the tee shots. It’s a par 3 tho, so don’t expect much. Good warm up for the main course tho at the myth

An Honest and Fair Review

I have to say, this course gets way more hate than it deserves.

The Good:

- What a spectacular layout. A few challenging holes, and a few easy holes make the course tough but fair

-Conditions: for a $30 course, you won’t find a course in better shape. The greens were soft, and receptive to well struck shots. The were on a slower side, but we’ve had rain, and with the hilly greens, the course would get nasty if they made it super quick. Fairways were great, mowed, and rewarding to hit. The rough was short and not very punishing, which is standard for public courses.

Bad:

The bridges are alright. They are bumpy, and you have to go a bit slower on them, but it’s far from a deal breaker that some make it out to be. They could use some love.

Teeboxes: this is not a big deal, as it was isolated to a few holes, one being a 120 par 3 that gets a lot of wedge abuse. Maybe one or two others were beat up poorly, but the vast majority were good. They also are very uneven, but you can usually find a flat spot to tee up in.

All in all, a good day. For $30, you won’t play a better course.

Great value

Great course for a great price. The travel between tees is fun and offers well shaded relief from the heat. Very green and well watered course when I went. Challenging fast greens. Great beer selection.

Not good

Hasn’t been maintained. Tee boxes are trash like everyone else on here has said. Most carts struggle to get going. Girl working in the clubhouse is a babe tho and seems cool.
