Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
CART PATHS
The over all course was in pretty good shape and some challenging holes. But if they do not get the cart paths fixed they are going to have a lawsuit on there hands. They are getting worse and worse.
Give it your best shot
Twilight golf. a couple of groups, in front of us should have been playing from the red tees, yes they are for guys too. The course was in good shape. Some greens rolled well, some were furry and bumpy. Tee box 14 was like trying to drive a tee into hard clay.. The course itself: Well, I'm not fond of holes with blind fairways, not knowing what's beyond a large mound blocking ones view. thus forcing a lay up, only to be faced with a long second shot into a par 4. Plus many doglegs, narrow fairways, water and marshland, again forcing layups. I will have to play this course a few times to figure out the shot placement necessary to shoot a decent score on this course. Bring extra water balls. I think, once I figure out this course, it'll be fun.
Nice course
I’ve golfed this course in years past and this seemed to be in the best condition in awhile. I would have given the “course condition” 5 stars but a few of the tee boxes were in rough shape, other then that it was good. Nice job on getting the course in good playing condition.
Went on memorial day
Very challenging for an average golfer. Ball placement and club selection are key. Study the holes before hitting there are streams, ponds and traps everywhere. I recommend this to mid to lower handicap players. Great scenery and conditions are excellent this time of year!
Bridges need to be fixed
Course was nice. Bridges are sketchy and falling apart.
How far is that?
Greeted with negative attitude by person taking our money. No accurate yardage marker on any hole. Greens with gauges and tall cuts. It was my last time there.
Disappointed
On a Wednesday afternoon, it took three hours to play 13 holes. Then the backlog seemed to worsen so at that point, it wasn't worth the waiting, so I quit. In addition, the course has many holes in close proximity to one another. Consequently, several times players from another hole would appear seemingly out of nowhere on the hole you are playing. Some of this happens from time-to-time but, some fellow golfers seemed ignorant to yielding to other players when they miss hit and play in your fairway to hit back to the fairway they were are playing from. Everyone I encountered face-to-face were very friendly so maybe there were a high number of rookies on the course which may have contributed to the slow play as well.
Nice course for the money
Good course for the money, played during the weekday. Course was in good shape, has some hazards to avoid. Greens have too much slope in my opinion. Overall a good time.
Boyd's review
Overall the course was in decent shape, with the exception of quite a few of the tee boxes. The tee boxes were chewed up and some looked like they weren't meant to even be a tee box. The pin placement on the day we played was difficult at best. For average to high handicappers like my son and me, we felt punished for hitting decent shots into the greens. I don't mind a challenge, but whoever decided on the pin placements that day seemed to want to inflict suffering on the players. All I ask is a chance to make a par. The pin placements made that very difficult and that was disappointing.
