Timber Trace Golf Club
About
Timber Trace Golf Club sprawls across the rolling countryside that surrounds Lake Wallaby in lower Michigan. The location seems rather remote, giving the course an isolated feel, but the round is well worth the trip. The layout is routed through tall pines and the fairways effortlessly flow across the gently rolling hills. The wooded terrain is one of the course's major draws. Golfers from as far as the metro Detroit area come to enjoy this scenic round. The layout has an interesting mix of holes that offer plenty of variety. There are some tricky spots but you won't come across any carries over wetlands or ponds. Golfers will face long and challenging back-to-back par 5s starting with the 15th. This duo has the potential to ruin your score.

Spring golf in Michigan, it is what it is.
Timber Trice is a great track, plenty of sand to make you feel you should bring a 6 pack of Corona in order to complete your day at the beach.
When I played her we were only 48 hours from our last snow. The fairways are generous, the greens rolled true and remarkably true considering the winter we've had.
The course needed some love as far as post winter maintenance but, that being said the grounds crew was out in force bringing this gem back from it's long winter nap. Kudos to the grounds crew as they would stop working and power down the blowers and mowers while one would attempt to make their shot.
I loved the layout and the views were amazing (can't wait to play her after she greens up and the foliage pops)
I will be back to donate more golf balls very soon.
1 st of the year
it was in good condition for this time of year. no food in the clubhouse afterwards. a little bummer
Beautiful layout
Aptly named course, as it winds through a forest of oaks and pines. On the day we played, the trees were in full autumn display...very impressive visuals all the way around the course. The course itself is pure eye candy, too. It's challenging without being extremely difficult, with numerous bunkers but few forced carries. Not a poor or dull hole on the course, with a nice mix of short and long holes, straightaways and doglegs, through forests and prairie. Greens all have shape to them, so not many flat putts, but no roller coasters. The few homes on the course are well out of the way for errant shots, with one obvious exception off the tee on the 8th hole (wouldn't take that house for free!). Given the beauty of the course, very good conditioning, and the friendliness of the staff...we'll be back again and again.
Great Fall scenery
Picked it on past experience and price. We love the home just left of and near the first green. Check out the front doors. But I digress.
The course was not very crowded and the pace was excellent on the front. The back was held up by a slow foursome, two groups in front of my twosome. Conditions were very good but the greens were slower than I like. The entire drive from the US 23 exit into the Pinckney area is very pretty this time of year. The course is also very scenic. A good couples course for the average golfers.
Fun course for all golfers
Played on a crisp fall day and the course was in excellent condition . . . love the course. The five minute ride through the wet lands was enjoyable.
Good tee seperation need to be long to play back tee,s.
Good tee boxes, Great fairways and greens. Need to stay on proper side of fairway to have a good shot into green.Nice ride on back nine to get to the 13th tee.
7 minutes from 12th tee to 13th, great scenery.
I traveled about an hour to play here and was well worth it offering 5 sets of tees for all different types of golfers very tough course.
