Rush Lake Hills Golf Club in Pinckney stretches across gently rolling hills that are sprinkled with mature trees. Opened in 1961, the course has a classic design with wide fairways. With the exception of two holes that were rebuilt in the mid 1990s, the golf course has retained its original design. The front nine is wide-open and provides a spacious feel. The back nine is a bit tighter and while it may be shorter, it's also hillier. The undulating terrain is perfectly complemented by the strategic placement of the bunkers. The course offers a fair amount of challenging holes but it won't overwhelm high handicappers and its manageable 6,237-yard length is also ideal for beginners. It's not a formidable test, but Rush Lake Hills Golf Club is a great option for a quick affordable round.

1/2 a course

The back nine is nice. Looks like a golf course. The front is a green parking lot. Its like a field and they just put greens and tee boxes on it. Very long and very boring. If you want to play only 9 than just play the back and you'll be happy. The front is pretty pathetic.

Great Value for Spring Tune-up

The $15 Golf Now price was a great value for a Saturday. I have played this course on and off for 40 years, and the conditions were much better than normal, especially considering the abnormally wet April we have had. The fairways over rolling hills were green and dry. The greens were true, although a little inconsistent for speed. If the course stays this way, I will be playing here again several times this year.

A Practice Course at Best

I got a great deal on Golfnow.com, so I can't say I wasted my money, but this is not a course I will ever play again. It mixes some of the worst elements from my least favorite local Michigan courses. It has small, sloped greens that guarantee your ball will roll off into the rough if you don't have pinpoint accuracy and control on approach. The course isn't particularly beautiful and the fairways seemed pretty rough. On one hole there was even a fallen tree in the fairway.

Staff was nice and pace of play was great. I just prefer courses that are in better shape with larger more forgiving greens.

good course

the course was nice, wide fairways with a lot of rolling hills and well maintained, challenging greens. It was early spring, i'd like to see it in july when it should be nicer.

Not to bad for the money

Once again Golf Now doesn't disappoint for giving opportunity to play good courses at great rates! The greens roll true; considering that we've had a very cold and wet spring the course was in good shape. The front nine is very open with 3 par 5's, the first 4 holes on the back are fairly tight and very very rolly.

Would have like to have seen some ball washers out on the course (mid April it's time) would also been nice to see that the few sand traps on the course were given some "love" and a been raked out from the winter. The greens were fairly slow but were in pretty good shape and rolled true. The guys in the club house were very friendly.

Also, on a side note, the fact that the profits of the course are giving to the Henry Ford Hospital cancer research team is just pretty cool.

Great course for the price

This course is very enjoyable. The front 9 continues to prove to be the more difficult of the two. I've played here several times and the pace of play has always been outstanding. The back 9 is more scenic, even over-looking a nice pond on 16.

Fairly inexpensive when booked through Golf Now

Played course on 10/21/12 so it was not in the best of shape. Fairways looked like they had not been cut in a week and greens had spots on them and were long and slow. Course played fairly easy though and was not too crowded. For the money I would play there again.

We love playing here because of the friendly staff and interesting course

Rush Lake Hills has become our 'home' course. The staff is great, the atmosphere unpretentious and the value for the money unexcelled. It's wide open enough to be playable by average players but the hiily terrain and table top greens can make it a real challenge. We frequently walk it, though some holes are quite hilly.

Back Nine is Nice. Wheres the beer lady?

Went here for the first time. Was ok. DIdn't have a beer cart lady driving around and the lobby is bad. Not a real nice lobby to have a beer afterwards like most golf courses. The back nine was beautiful but the front isn't . Night and day between the front and back nine. Overall an ok course.

Decent "country" course - not a cow pasture

All about value here...good prices. Have played several times because of the deals they offer. Course gets heavy play and pace of play can be an issue. I would say the course is in OK shape for what it is. Staff is generally friendly - but I had one very bad experience - will leave it at that.
