Brae Burn Golf Club
About
Brae Burn Golf Club in Plymouth has a traditional layout with a landscape that ranges from gently rolling to wildly undulating. On most holes, elevated tees play to elevated greens. The large, undulating greens usually slope back to front. Golfers will encounter water on 15 holes and the fairways are lined with mature trees. The bunkering is sparse but strategically placed and there are also rough-enhanced moguls protecting the greens, a unique feature at Brae Burn. One tip if it is your first time on the golf course is to study the course diagram beforehand since there are many hidden ponds that come into play on the fairways and greensides. The course's most famous hole is the par-5 13th, nicknamed "The Monster" since it measures a devilish 666 yards. This tricky hole double doglegs to the left and then back towards the right.

Love old courses
Shorter course with interesting changes in elevation. Like leaving driver in bag for a most of a round and shot shaping. I enjoyed the change of pace from longer driver dominated courses.
nice course for a change
I have played this course several times over the years and have never had a bad experience. You must play most of the holes smart ( the monster in particular). I will play this course again.
True test of golf.
I've played Brae Burn many times over the past twenty years and always found it challenging and enjoyable. Some greens and tee boxes were being aerated, sanded and brushed. Wish I would have known that ahead of time. Probably would have waited until the following week to play.
Excellent value
Excellent value, great pace of play and easy to get a tee time.
Brae Burn
Best kept secret in town. Greens are not fast but roll true. Wife and I played in under 3 hours!
Staff
One of their staff told me that he does' like people who play at Brae Burn with Golf Now voucher.
I play with my family android were frustrated with his comment. Of course, I paid a small amount of money that I suppose to pay because I took a hot deal. The staff had not professional attutude when he faced to customers even though we paid a small amount of money as a green fee compared to normal green fee.
course condition
Golf course was in terrible condition. Not worth the time to play!
A place in the country
I have played in a league at Brae Burn for several years and find the staff to be fine folks. The prepared food, especially the soups are great.
The course is older but not surrounded by homes so the rural atmosphere is very nice.
Solid
The course is in really good shape. Course layout is weird in spots, but no gimmick holes. Love playing 'The Monster', always fun trying to birdie the longest par 5 in Michigan (#13).
Engineered A Good Round
Great value. The course was in good shape and the greens were well maintained but challenging hole locations.
Nice course to relax and play.
This is not a long course, but it just has a relaxing quality about it. Don't misunderstand me....it will challenge you. Have fun!!
rain check policy
Paid for 18, played four holes, received rain check credit for less than nine holes because we booked with golf now. Greens were decent the rest of what we saw of the course was in bad shape.
Fairways and rough were overflowing with clippings, the rough especially. It had been cut several days previously because the clippings were dried out. Looked like straw in many areas. Long straw. This excess of clippings made it easy to lose balls even in the first cut. Worse than dealing with leaves in the fall. Disappointing.
Met my expectations.
First round of the year and first time playing here. Good value for the money. Booked it the night before and was the first one off the tee at 8:07. Big greens with a lot of roll downhill if you're above the cup. Grass was a bit long and hid my ball several times. Still got 18 in 3.5 hours. Not a country club but worth the trip there and the $28 bucks it cost for 18 and a cart. I'd go there again to what it around.
