Bruce Hills Golf Club
About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

Sad to see
Course is in rough shape. Very compacted Fairways and around greens. Ball lying on clay in between scarce blades on grass, quite often. Rough day chipping to say the least. Crowned tee boxes looked like they hadn't been touched in weeks. Sad to see, was a favorite of ours. Rate reflects a get what you pay for morning. Seems to be a trend. Waiting for the rate hike. Same thing happened at Golden Hawk last couple years. Coincidence?
OK - Greens too small
For the person who struggles with iron accuracy (like me) the greens will do you any favors. They're small and mounded or tilted in one direction. They're in good shape and so were the fairways, but it's rating of being an easy course is deceptive based on the difficulty in getting them on the green and trying to get them to stay on the green. Also, there is a lot of water you will need to carry over or lay up into in order to be successful here.
