Bruce Hills Golf Club
About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

Tee box view at hole #1 Photo submitted by Unnamed on 10/18/2014
Played 18 holes did cart girl drove past us 3 times
Too Crowded
Too many golfers crammed onto the course; usually two groups, often 3 groups per hole for a 4-1/2 hour round.
A LONG DAY
Played the front nine in 3 1/2 hours. Course was overbooked.
Pace of play
This course over-books their course making the play extremely slow. Avoid this course unless you like playing 9 holes in 3 hours. Extremely frustrating.
Tee time cancelled by Bruce Hills due to wet course
An hour before our tee time the course contacted me to say that they were not allowing carts on the course because it was too wet. Walking would be OK, but at my age walking is out of the question. So we will try Bruce Hills again later this season. Gave medium ratings for everything because I have not played this course in about 3 years.
Tough little track.
Tough little track. So you see 5600 yards on the scorecard and you say no problem, right? Wrong. The greens are small and crowned. They were not overly fast, but if you are on the wrong side of the holes your putts can definitely get away from you. This is a course where local knowledge will definitely help you.
Speaking of local knowledge, I played the course for the first time and it kicked my butt. Shot about eight strokes over my handicap. The Tee shots definitely favor a fade but there are ponds in many of the landing areas. Many of the Tee shots are blind, so you will definitely want to drive ahead and see what you’re looking at. The fairways are sloped in many places and a good shot can end up trickling down into a hazard or some really gnarly rough. The rough around the greens is deep. Course is well-maintained. They probably booked a few too many teetimes for Father’s Day as it was almost a five hour round. Everybody working there was very friendly and accommodating, especially Zack who took care of the carts. All in all it was a very nice course and a very enjoyable day but I advise leaving the driver in the car. You’ll have a better time. I went to the three Wood and 4 iron off the tee on the back nine and I scored better.
Overbooked
Nice course and layout but by hole 6 there was a 3 group backup. Had to wait for two groups in each hole !!
Better than expected.
I played this course a few years ago and it wasn’t in as good of shape as today. I was pleasantly surprised the course was much better than I remember. My son and I played and it was a great value too. Will definitely go back.
Slow slow
Beautiful course, challenging layout but I had two groups of slow motion people front of me, still frustrated!!!!
Worst course ever
Go to LITERALLY any course but here! This is a course for the dumb ,drunk and rude. And if you think playing 3 balls per person each hole while people are literally sitting behind you and waiting. Probaly don't have to pay either, becuase nobody is paying attention to anything, except the beer cart girls that are at it at 9 am , as if the billbillies that go here thinking this course is great need any alcohol to suck even more . You could walk in grab a cart and go. That's how this course is ran. Don't waste your time and money.
If you like slow play this course is for you
Had 2 groups of 6 tee off followed by two clowns that played 3-4 balls each. Had multiple hacks playing two fairways over and a few idiots driving around grabbing golf balls from other peoples fairways. Solid beer selection though
Slow play
Only played nine holes, looking for 9 hole rain check?
