Bruce Hills Golf Club
About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

Decent course, terrible pace of play
Booked a tee time in the late morning. Showed up 10 mins early and realized that there were 8 carts in front of us still waiting to tee off Hole 1. In summary, it seems like they overbooked their tee times, which resulted in a 4 hour round..for 9 holes! I left after 9, but it would have been close to an eight hour round if I played it all out. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have any sort of plans after golf.
Newer golfer loved course
Course was nice. Pretty good for beginners but also challenging. Mix of everything. I’m a high handicapper who is very new to golfing and I loved it. Staff was awesome and very friendly.
Nice variety of holes - very playable
Nice playable course. Good elevation changes on the par. 5s. Drivable par 4 10th hole is also a nice change
Th par 3 4th is a challenging 196 yards and is a total contrast with the short par 3 13th
Definitely will return to play it again
Nice roomy clubhouse to have a cold one after the round
The Bruce
Nice course. Play there frequently. Can’t beat the staff and price. Course is a little rough but provides all the golf shots.
Slow play
No starter
Groups of 3, or 2 going out when it’s completely packed made for slow play, guys in front of us had Jorts and tshirts, no golf shoes. They also hit probably 20-30 shanks a hole. Hitting ball after ball. Someone needs to take charge.
Great course, great time
Always a fun course. Greens are what make the game challenging here. Hard to score with these greens, but what fun what it be if they weren't challenging.
Fun & Challenging
Don’t be fooled by the length of this course. The challenge lies In the tight fairways, water all over and small crowned greens where being below the hole is so important. Throw in a few drivable par 4s and fun is waiting for you.
First time playing
I’ve heard this course kind of disparaged by some golf snobs but I found it to be a fun course. There is enough variety of short and long, some dog legs, some water which kept my driver in the bag on quite a few holes. Greens weee in solid shape, perhaps a bit hard but the rolled well and ball marks were limited.
Overall, I enjoyed it for the price.
Nice condition tough greens
A fair budget friendly course. Good course to get out to have fun on for a good price.
