Brentwood Golf Club & Banquet Center
About
Brentwood Golf & Banquet Center in White Lake is conveniently less than an hour from downtown Detroit. The 18-hole layout has two distinctly different designs. The front nine is a wooded trail design with homes lining the fairways while the back nine has a more open, classic Scottish-links layout with fewer trees. There are nearly 40 bunkers situated along the greens and fairways and a variety of marshes, wetlands, and ponds come into play on 13 holes. To make the golf course even more challenging, the strategically placed mounding provides a number of tricky uneven lies from all angles and on nearly every hole. Brentwood's par-5 16th is a particularly memorable hole, featuring a grass hill that is directly in front of the green, almost completely blocking the view of the putting surface on the approach.

Decent course for the value
The course was fairly priced for the value. I paid $25 for 18 holes with a cart on a Sunday afternoon. The course itself was in great condition. The greens were also in very good condition although they are not cut very low and run on the slower side. This course is more suited for beginners and intermediate golfers. It is not very difficult and is very short. The scorecard said 6,424 yards from the back tee boxes, but I doubt it even was 6,000 yards total. Many of the holes that say 380+ yards I took my GPS and shot the pin at yardages 275-300 yards. I only used my driver once on the front nine and maybe only 3 or 4 holes on the back nine. I hit 300 yards pretty consistently with the driver and for many of these holes it would be too much for the par 4's. Some of the holes overlap each other and are very close to a neighboring holes also, so just seems crammed like they tried to fit this course in a small area around the neighborhood houses. I usually shoot 75-82 for 18 holes depending on the difficulty of the course and shot a 71 (-1) my first time playing this course without even playing my best. It's in good shape and well worth the value of $20-$25, but I don't think advanced golfers would find this course very challenging or fun as it is a really short course.
Surprisingly great course
The course is hands down one of my favorite courses in Michigan. Greens are always in good condition as well as the fairways. Gives a good mix of tight holes lol and wide open holes with some playing very long where you can grip and rip without being punished very hard if you missand some playing shorted and forcing you to be accurate and make some real golf shots. Couldn't recommend this course more. If you don't get to play often then I highly suggest making this course one of the few you play. Even without a hot deal, it's worth it.
Only good with golfnow hot deals.
I paid around $25 for 18 but their regular rate was $60. Definitely NOT worth full price.
Fun Course, great play for the money.
After learning the course it is a lot more fun to play. Some holes the houses are tight on but are guarded by trees mostly. Different style of holes keeps it adventurous. Only note to make for the course and other players is to incorporate lengths to OB on the 2 or 3 stiff dog legs. Club down off those tee's than what your eyes tell you.
Tee boxes need help.
It is not a bad course, but the tee boxes need help. The cart paths are a bit rough too. We made an early tee time to beat the heat. The bar and grill was still not open when we made the turn.
Brentwood
I wish the bar and grill would have been open. We booked an earlier round to beat the heat. When we made the turn around 10:30, 11am and were unable to get lunch or a cold one, that was the only downside. So we just had lunch after our round.
Great Links Style Back 9
First time I played course thanks to a hot deal discount. The first 3-4 holes I was unsure as the tee boxes were beat up but the course got better as we went along, especially the links style back 9 that was in fantastic shape. Played 18 in less than 4 1/2 hours which I’ll take any day, greens were in great condition too. Just the tee boxes and/or tee placements need some TLC.
Sweet Spot
This course is awesome. Doesn’t okay very long and I swear my GPS had us playing what was on the scorecard. Greens were very nice. Fairways were in good shape. If you like keeping driver in the bag then get out to this course. Hole 9 par 3 over the water, it’s only a wedge in but it’s right in front of the clubhouse and practice green, all eyes on whoever is teeing off, very fun.
Great Course and great pace of play
Always great to play Brentwood, friendly staff, great shape and pace of play during the week is the best !!!!
