Sun Valley Golf Course

Sun Valley has the potential to be a very nice course. The scenic views are great. The fairways were well kept up. I was not able to book a reservation online and did not even know they were open. I called and they said they had plenty of tee times. When I arrived, the staff said when internet is down, ppl can not book online. That is a huge problem financially for them. The clubhouse is severely outdated. The bunkers look like shallow graves and the tee boxes have a tree limb stuck in the ground with paint to mark tee boxes. This course has a lLOT of elevation and greens with a lot of slope. Some cart paths are gravel and some are non existent Course was in good shape though. If someone sunk some money into this course, I believe it would be a hidden gem

The greens were excellent and very receptive. The fairways had substantial damage the needs to be repaired. The sand traps were also well maintained. The course has beautiful scenic views and is very peaceful. It requires every club in the bag with its blind tee shots. Also, don't expect a beverage cart. Prepare yourself for the heat at the Pro Shop.

Took my grandson and played 18 holes, great staff, great views of rolling hills, love playing this course with a par 6 number 5 hole.

Sun Valley has added zosia fairways to match their PGA quality greens. This course with its picturesque views is a true value and steal to play. The one area that needed some attention were the hard-packed sand traps. Golfers should run to play this super good but getting better course.

Long course, tough greens, challenging and beautiful

The gnats were horrible here. It is in a more rural setting and I would expect some flys and gnats. I have never experienced anything like this. My wife refused to play halfway through the first hole. I continued playing up to the third tee box. We tried OFF bug spray which was a mistake because these bugs loved it. I wish I was exaggerating, they were in my eyelids, trying to fly up my nose and in my ears. I thought maybe it was just in that beginning area of the course but as I looked out I could see groups in the distance flailing around to shoo them away. Quit after two holes. Told the lady inside we were done. She asked if we tried bug spray and said we should have used a vanilla spray? We payed through a hot deal so I understand her not being able to refund our money.

First thing you'll notice is the beautiful views.

The greens are large and VERY well maintained.

The course is tight in several places, requiring a nice drive.

The course is fun to play.

The staff is great.

It's a must play.

This course offers some great elevated views of the Missouri landscape. Fall colors are just starting to appear. Pace of play at your leisure as this course is off the main beat and path of most golfers.

Course was in great shape only downside was tee boxes weren’t well defined. Quite hilly requires some walking .

The course is in good shape, greens are very nice. This is the best the course has ever been. My only complaint is that they sell 7 am t-times but don’t even arrive till 7. Range balls are terrible.

Couldn’t of more pleasantly surprised how nice this course was. Truly a hidden gem

Great greens and fairways in the Missouri hills along the big river. Lots of wild life and beautiful views. A really fun place to play. Amazing value!

Course as in great condition as they have had some rain this year. Greens were fantastic and the scenery is always terrific. Great value for the price!

I had not played there in quite a while because the course was not in good shape and it was just too long for my senior game.

I was happy to find that the course had improved nearly 100 per cent. The zoysia fairways were fully grown in the tees and greens had improved and the overall care of the course was excellent.

The senior tees that have been added helped but were still too long at almost 5700 yards. I had to move up to the forward tee on some holes to have a chance to get to the green in regulation.

Overall it was a great experience because the stunning views you get from the course of the surrounding hills were finally matched by course conditions. I will be back and will tell friends about the improvement as well.
