Loved The Valley
We played the Woods and the Valley. The Woods was nice, however the Valley was more spread out and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed it.
Old Channel
Wonderful course with a great layout of different types of.Terrain.
Halloween closing day
The forecast did not look too good for high winds and some showers and it was true. It was windy and we were dodging some light rain, which was not a big deal, but we had the golf course to ourselves at least the first six holes or so, but there are three nines here so there’s never really an issue. I was closing day for the season and we caught a great deal for real cheap on GolfNow so it was worth the hour drive and it is a very nice drive out Towards the lake. I like the electric carts better when it’s nice and quiet and you could hear the waves pounding on the Lake Michigan from the wind, but with the trees it wasn’t all that bad. We played the old Woods nine and across the street for the new valley.
When we were leaving, an older gentleman came up to us and asked how we did and we had seen him here before very nice gentleman who has worked for the original owner. Well, I don’t know if it’s the original owner back in 1926 but anyway, he told us a little bit more about the history how they changed two holes the first two holes of the woods nine were made later on when they built the Meadows and they got rid of the first two holes, which was over by the wedding venue right along the lake and the little white shack there was the Caddyshack in the parking was over there and they built that current clubhouse, which is very unique in the 60s but anyway we like this course And Seemed to score a good deal Golf now, so that’s what brings us back
Fall Golf Valley & Woods
Started on the Woods. Greens had been aerated and sanded but still rolled decent. Leaves are just starting to fall which made finding your ball just off the fairway a bit challenging at times. Off to the Valley. Greens rolled true and over course was still in great shape.
Old Channel Trail is a lot of fun
Nice course with 27 holes. Original 1926 nine tests your accuracy and modern valley nine lets you hit the driver a bit more. Greens on both nines are smooth and fast. A must play when vacationing in west Michigan.
