Old school cool
The wife and I started coming here a couple years ago after a long layoff of over 25 years that I had not played it. It’s nice that they have 27 here and each night has its own character. The old woods is from the 1920s and it’s unique and has these bones And the Meadows is also a nice track and the newest 9 is the valley across the road which is also very nice. No it is on golf now when you get a very good price here and being that it’s a little out of the way it does not seem to get crowded at all.
Believe it or not we only paid $10 each here the last time with a coupon that they give us with tee off.com so you cannot beat the price the older gentleman in the clubhouse is a very nice cordial guy and the clubhouse reminds me of an old Stuckey‘s restaurant with a concrete floor in the steeple top roof. The guys take pretty good care of these old lines and being it is an hour drive for us it is worth it. We will be back again
Wife loves it, so do I. 9 holes close to 100 years old! 9 from ‘60s, ‘90s
Played beer for first time back in 1997 with a buddy who worked for Kent county road commission on an outing where alcohol was free flowing and had not played it again until a couple years ago so it had been 25 years and didn’t remember much.
The 3 nines all have different personalities the Woods be built in 1926 with its mounded greens and guarded bunkers and unusual mound’s which almost look like they were bunkers at one time but now ate grass. It looks strange at first but there’s many on most holes.
We like the newest 9 the Valley onnhe east side built in the ‘90s.
It is maintained very well and now that it’s on TeeOff we’re going to be the more this year. Unfortunately it’s an hour drive.
Being right next to Lk Michigan it’s several degrees cooler!
Great Value. Would play again.
First time playing this course. 4 of us played 18 holes on August 18th. Tee time was 9:15am. Play time was great. Never waited on anyone or had people play up on us. Course was in excellent shape. Played the Woods and Valley. Both interesting in different ways. Nice to have both courses very different from each other. Great value for the money. Girls in the club house were very friendly. As for food: typical northern style club house, so don't expect anything fancy. That being said, they had a nice variety; hotdogs, subs, etc.. Will definitely play again.
Average course, good price
Golf course is average. 3 different 9’s. Clubhouse is below average to poor. Driving range and practice holes are excellent and well kept. Course is pretty straight, very little water, and strong Lake Michigan breezes. Course is maintained like you’d expect for $30/18 w/cart. Very Fair price and they are very friendly.
Excellent Condition
Played recently. The course was.in great shape. Completed the round in 3.5 hours. Highly recommend Old Channel!
Hidden Gem
This place was fantastic. Beautifully manicured. 3 Fun course designs. Friendly staff. Great value.
Perfect Morning
Morning started out with a cheery welcome in the Pro Shop. I wish I could remember the young fella's name, very friendly. He pleasantly confirmed our "Hot Deal" tee time. Unlike my experiences at some other courses.where I've used the online deals.
We started on the Meadows with a 7:56 tee time and sailed through the 1st. 9 holes. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens, which were quite consistent.
We hit the Valley for the turn to the back 9. Again, great course conditions. The Valley is more of a challenge, but fair.
We usually play Old Channel 2-4 times per year and truly enjoy the course and staff. Did not disappoint.
