Perfect Morning
Morning started out with a cheery welcome in the Pro Shop. I wish I could remember the young fella's name, very friendly. He pleasantly confirmed our "Hot Deal" tee time. Unlike my experiences at some other courses.where I've used the online deals.
We started on the Meadows with a 7:56 tee time and sailed through the 1st. 9 holes. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens, which were quite consistent.
We hit the Valley for the turn to the back 9. Again, great course conditions. The Valley is more of a challenge, but fair.
We usually play Old Channel 2-4 times per year and truly enjoy the course and staff. Did not disappoint.
Best round of the year
Playing one of the final rounds of the season this weekend and the course was in immaculate condition. Greens were much much more up to speed than most in the area. Beautiful course for fall golfing!
Wife's First Hole in One!
My wife got her first hole in one on the 4th hole of the Valley course! Course conditions were very good even though it had been aerated. Pace of play was excellent and the staff is always friendly and courteous.
So fun.
Beautiful course. Really enjoyed playing valley. It had beautiful holes that required good shots. Club selection vety important.
Nice course, great value.
Nice course for the value. First time playing. Greens were slow. Roughs were super thick, hard to find your ball if you don’t drive the fairway. Great design. Would definitely golf again.
Nice Track
3 nines to choose from....the Woods, the Meadow and the Valley. Courses are in great condition. The Valley is picturesque. Greens run true and the bunkers are in good shape. Highly recommend!
Traditional Course
One of or the oldest courses in the area(1927). Pace of play was excellent and the greens rolled true. It was a pleasure to play it.
Windy but Enjoyable
Greens were in great shape. Windy and cold today since you are right next to Lake Michigan. Played the round in 3 hours and 15 minutes . The course has three 9’s and none of them were real busy. Course staff is very friendly. Our new favorite course!
Tranquil
Love playing any nine at Old Channel because the course layout and conditions are always excellent.
Very Fun Course
One of my favorites to play in the area because of the course layout. It is always in excellent shape as well.
This is a true hidden gem! Friendly, accommodating staff, easy access (although off the beaten path), mostly played by locals in the area. The course conditions are outstanding, tee to green. Beautifully laid out, through prairie and pine forrest, with a couple holes crossing a ravine as a surprise, a real bonus.
Exceptional value! Played it following the OCT Woods 9, somewhat more pedestrian layout, but with likewise excellent conditions and course upkeep.
