Great Value, Great course
My favorite layout in the area, play it almost every week…. very challenging !!!
Several t box’s for all levels of ability and age
There still working on their bunkers, and almost done.
I hear a lot of complaints about pace of play, and yes
Sometimes groups get backed up on this course mainly because golfers play the wrong T box. On this course if your not a 13 handicap or lower you need to be on the gold tees this course has plenty of challenges without playing off the whites, blues or blacks, its not Your grandmas course, it was designed to kick your butt and help you learn to be a better player, also play ready golf its not the PGA Championship……hit the darn ball already !!!!! And quit ball hawking in the brush for ten minutes on a hole, throw another one down and hit it
They keep there rates very very competitive
So if you want to pay $15 more per round they could
Spread the t times out, add 3 rangers to yell at the ball hawkers, and a starter to make everyone play as a foursome and make singles and twosomes play together.
My point is for a price point of $19 to $25 on weekdays with this quality of a course your not going to beat it anywhere. So take it upon yourself to play quickly and allow faster groups to play through.
Oh and fix your own ball mark and two more on every green.
Hidden gem
I drive an hour to meet up with a buddy at this course. I’m always impressed with the course. The greens are quick and in good shape. Fairways are green and I didn’t see a single dead spot. Unlike my home course, their is also a nice thick rough that can cause trouble if you’re in it. Great course. Can’t wait to go back.
The clubhouse is stocked. Even has some nice cigars. The bar has some great food for a quick lunch. Bartender was great.
August 1st 2022 Review
An interesting course, however the tee boxes were in very poor condition for the most part. Several bunkers had sand loaded into them but work need to be completed to spread the sand out - would have been better to focus on 1 bunker at a time - will be good when complete.
The course always gets backed up - at least that is my experience - need to gap tee times better.
A good one
Pace of play was decent. They are trying to address this challenge and they know they have a reputation for slow play. Some bunkers need improving. Hotdogs are great!
Greens
In great shape for this time of the year. Green are in excellent shape
Tee times
Tee times did not start on time so that caused a big back up to start with. It was a weekend tee time so a good start is a must;also, we had a mix of 4some 3 some and a 2 some . The 2some could have been managed with another 2 some and play would not have been so erratic.
Don’t play on Mondays
This course will schedule tee times even if they have a golf league. They do not tell you there are leagues and then send you out behind them.
The average par 4 took 25 minutes for 2 players to play, most of that time is waiting for the golfers in front of you while they search for the ball they just hit in the woods. Maybe if you play after 1pm you will be able to get in a round in less than 4.5 hours.
Unfriendly atmosphere
Signed for an early tee time. Showed up a bit close to the start time and apologized. Met with hostility and tried to deflect. I was playing with two novice golfers and we made a rule that they would only shoot double par per every hole. Well as I was taking my second shot from the fairway the starter came up to me. I expected a “the tee sheet is full, can you guys keep it to 15 mins per hole?” Instead I was met with “what is wrong? Are you guys ok?” I then put it on the green for a birdie look. On hole three we reached the group in front of us. That didn’t stop the ranger to stop by our group many more times. I have no issues with starters, rangers, even the front desk keeping play up but the second you do it while being disrespectful you lose my business. I wish the best for the course and the patrons who play it, however the three men I dealt with that day ruined it for my friends and family.
