Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Course set up pretty straight on.
Course was great for beginning play.
Not so much for advanced or better play. Fairways very wet.
Rained 12 hours before so possibly the issue but draining wasnt seeming to work towards edges of fairways. All in all good course
Short and playable
I'm the "Golfing Trucker" and golf whenever I'm on a layover. Lake Erie is the 1st Michigan course I've played and from 1st to last tee this is as good as it gets. Ball placement and shaping is a must. Holes 11-12 is the challenge but 16-18 was really my best ones.
Front 9 were really warmups for the back 9... Sounds biased but the course layout just plays that way.
Staff was great and a perfect place for a tournament.
Always a great course.
Always in great condition, and the rates are fair. Very fun course to play.
Very well taken care of.
Nice course overall. Not the most challenging but very well taken care of.
Great Course, Great Value
All of the metropark courses are great and lake erie is no exception! We played for $26 and had a great time! Course was in great shape, greens and fairways were pristine and pace of play was smooth and fast. I would highly recommend this course it’s open for average golfers but long enough to be challenging for golfers whom are pretty skilled.
Great pace of play
Good course, great value, well-maintained. Still a little wet...
My favorite local course.
Lake Erie Golf Course is in a great, quiet and peaceful location, full of wildlife. The course is usually very well maintained, but this season has started out super wet, so it is a little rough this spring. This is very flat course, carved out of what is basically a forest. It plays pretty easy, but hit your shots straight or you will lose a lot of balls. The fairways are tree lined with heavy grass borders, and there are only a couple of holes where parallel fairways come near to each other(lots of woods all around). The clubhouse doesn't offer much more than hot dogs, sandwiches and reasonably priced cans of beer, but what more do you really need? There is a bar with a good menu, right down the street for after your round.
Needs New Staff
The course was in mediocre shape, a lot of standing water (not their fault).. They tried to bill me full price after I paid in full with Golf Now, so I questioned what was going on, Golf Now had overbooked. They weren’t going to let me out even after I showed them the receipt. I told them I wasn’t paying full price as I had already paid. I told the guy that if there is a problem it’s between their vendor and the course management I have nothing to do with it. Very frustrating, took 30 minutes to get fixed.
Rangers followed us around the course, very stressful, the dude went off on me for parking close to the green, it was 20’ from the green in the rough. Overall the course is nice but the staff jumps on you for trivial nonsense which ruins your day. Fifth time playing here and the staff has been rude every time. Won’t be back.
Snobs
Lake Erie metropark golf course is always in great condition. With lake Erie itself being soo close, any rain pretty much floods the course and don't expect too many not soo windy days. The staff and local golfers always are very snobby and uppity not a problem at any other course but always has been a problem here for the 3 years I've golfed here. The fairways and greens keep you coming back, but the management of tee times and no flexibility on teeing off on the back 9 constantly has you crowded front and back people will play up on you and try to force single players in your group. Beautiful greens and fairways, not too challenging layout but challenging dealing with surrounding golfers and poor customer relations with staff.
Nice course. Try and play on a non-windy day because being by the water the wind is kicked up a notch out there making some long holes feel even longer. Greens were great, fairways were great. Tee boxes were in fair condition. Staff was super friendly and homemade cookies in the club house are a steal! Highly recommend this course
Slow pace of play, slow guy working counter
I’m sitting here at 10:52, still waiting to tee off for my 10:48. The 10:40 showed up at 11am and got moved in front of us. The guy working the counter said “nothing I can do for you” I will never in my life come back to this god forsaken golf course..
