About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Great course
Had a group of twelve playing right after rain. Let us ride at 90 degrees. Surprised with that. Course was in incredible shape for this time of year. Play it once a year and really enjoy it. Everyone enjoyed it. Will be back

Greens were in great shape.....tee boxes need some work

Great course, rude starter
Play this course at least once a week and usual starter ( gentleman with white beard) is gracious and kind and manages the tee times with aplomb...today a different person not so much...
John, thanks for your business and support all season. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the starter/ranger on Wednesday. He was trying to keep groups together rather then splitting up on the golf course for maintenance reasons.

The course was very wet and not easy to play on because of the poor drainage
Thanks Bogdan, it is tough to drain that much rain water! Enjoy your golf.
Course is in great condition, except the tee boxes. All the par 3’s have temp tee boxes which are super short. Course doesn’t play as long as the score card says. Very forgiving and wide open on every hole except last 3 holes. Seems like a lot of back and forth holes. Overall fun course but not too challenging. Small flat greens.

Wide open, forgiving and not too challenging are not usually words used to describe the course. Jack Nicklaus set the course record of 66 and it has stood for near 60 years. I hope you give the course another shot!
Nice environment. Challenging course.
I play at this course periodically during the year. The maintenance could be better but the course is not in bad condition. The course layout and small greens make for a challenging experience.
We think we are on the road to recovery from some grounds miss management. I think you will see the improvements continue through the winter, thanks!
