About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Course was in good shape for this time of year. Greens where in excellent condition. Will definitely be returning.

Pleasant surprise
Hadn’t played here in 25 years. Don’t know why, course was in great condition even after significant rain. Greens very good. Staff very nice. Will definitely be back.

Need to pay attention to detail
I requested in my reservation that I would like individual carts and would pay the extra fee . When I got there they were totally oblivious to the request and could not fulfill we negotiated for three carts ( split the difference ) I tried to explain that if they communicated prior to coming I could have decided to cancel , PS they. Did charge me the extra for the two carts which since they screwed up the could have given gratis
Hi Warren, thank you for your feedback, however the club never received any notice on you wanting individual carts. I also can not find where this request may have gone. Bookings are handled via third party.
In the future PLEASE call the pro shop on the phone for such requests and we can add the notes onto your tee time and you can avoid further issues!
Had a 9am tee time that was pushed back an hour and a half for a frost delay. Course is in great shape other then a handful of closed tee boxes.
Great Course
Great lay out. Due to frost delay pace of play was negatively impacted. Very challenging.

I wish we could control frost and the delays the frost causes, but this time of year it is always questionable.
Long but flat
The legend is the Jack Nicklaus hold the course record and it easy to see why. It's a long and pretty flat course. If you hit it long and straight (not me) you can should go low. The par 3s are pretty long with one being 225 from the white tees. Course in decent shape except the tee boxes which have been let go. It does have a a practice range which is good. Worth it for $38 to walk
Yes! You are correct. Jack Nicklaus holds the course record of 66 which he set at a event here in 1962! The course has stood the test of time and changes! Thanks

Even after 2 days of rain, the course was in great condition. Only issue i have is with the golf now gps app. None of the par 3s show up on the app.

As far as the Golf Now GPS app....that is not part of what we can control, but that seems odd. You should contact G Now, I just sent a email to them as well.
You get what you pay for
Ol'e reliable . Tight small greens (roll true) well maintained tee boxes and fairways this is a hidden gem for a true golfer. Meaning course punishes wayward shots so stay straight whenever possible. Round had steady 10-20 mphs winds yet still had a great time with pace around 4hrs or just under.
