About
Meadows Golf Club in Lincoln Park offers a casual and enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. For more of a challenge, golfers can try the blue tees while the white and the red tees are more forgiving of errant shots. The course sprawls across mostly flat terrain but there are a few subtly elevated greens to contend with. The layout is situated amidst native wetlands, which come into play on many of the holes. The back nine is more challenging than the front, with the toughest hole being the par-5 13th. At 455 yards, it's not a long hole but there are two large fairway bunkers and an elevated green that is surrounded by even more sand. The best view on the golf course can also be enjoyed from the middle of the green on this hole.

I pretty much never leave reviews, but if I can save someone from the travesty that was this round, it seems worth my time.
To quickly summarize: HORRIBLE conditions. Ridiculous price. Slow pace. Rude staff. AVOID.
CONDITIONS: This was hands down the worst part of this course to me. I have never seen worse conditions in my life. I don't even know how this course is open. The tee boxes were bare dirt and crabgrass. The fairways were aerated plinko boards that had giant bare dirt patches. When there was grass, it was filled with crabgrass and weeds. The greens were alright, but getting to them was a miserable experience. There were mud piles taking up good portions of some of the fairway that are probably going to be used to fix things up, but they were completely cutting off sections of fairway that should be in play. I was playing with a friend that doesn't get to go out and play much, so he really wanted to continue the round regardless of these conditions. I wanted to leave by the second or third hole and try to get a refund. I cannot stress enough how horrible the conditions are and it is astonishing that anyone would have the audacity to charge $60 to play here. I wish I could have convinced my playing partner to leave and I probably should have just left anyway and tried to get literally anything back.
LAYOUT: Several holes are stacked very closely together and the course was overpacked. There were multiple holes in which I had to wait to hit my ball because someone from another hole was walking on the fairway looking for a ball. I had someone hit a ball onto my tee box and people seemed to be all over the place.
STAFF: I started my day here after hitting the putting green by walking over to the starter and asking if I could just put my bag in any cart. He rudely told me "you can put your bag in if you paid". I then explained that my friend was inside and was already paying. He then just looked away and ignored me and we drove over to the first tee. Whatever, I'm not going to let that ruin anything. I did speak with one of the younger members of the staff that was looking for a phone someone had dropped who was much more polite, so it wasn't all of the staff that was terrible, the starter's attitude was definitely unnecessary though.
PACE: The group in front of me was 2 older gentlemen. They were EXTREMELY slow all day, and it seemed like one of them was teaching the other one. I watched this man hit 7 or 8 shots on a par 3, stop to look for his ball that he hit into the water for 3 minutes, and then eventually drop to finish the hole. We waited on the cart path for about 15 minutes. Almost every hole was this slow. I personally hate being rushed when I am playing but this was insane to me and no one said anything.
Playing a round of golf here was almost enough for me to pack it in for the season. Please, do yourself a favor. Do not do this to yourself and go anywhere else that actually has playable conditions.

Improving conditions
I've been playing this course for about 25 yrs. Recently took my sons to play a round. The course has made some big improvements. Tee boxes are a work in progress - the fairways are better than they have been in years- Greens are in good shape too. Mike and the rest of the staff are great to deal with. Looking forward to seeing this course get better and have many more rounds with my boys.

Rough Patches
Many Tee boxes were a mess basically weed boxes and fairways had many rough patches the greens also with rough damaged areas. a bit below an average public course in my experience w local courses.
Lovely grounds course very flat and easy to walk. Relatively inexpensive and conveniently located. If you are looking for a well manicured course and are serious about your score don’t think this course would meet your needs. For casual golfer looking for a round w pleasant views at a reasonable rate tgis course it is great. Enjoyed my round and will return in the future..

Nice Course... very convenient location.
The course is not a 5 star with gorgeous conditions (yet!), but is 10 times nicer than a few years ago. The new ownership that took over several years ago is definitely heading in the right direction. The course has done a good with the landscape it has, utilizing tight fairways, bunkers and water hazards to make it just challenging enough, while still allowing the novice to enjoy themselves. A little hidden gem, for the right price!

Love this place
Love playing here. Course is great. They are always working to improve the conditions. Staff is friendly. (Way nicer then all the county courses). Beer cart is never far away and always easy to get a tee time. 10/10 would recommend.

Give them time
A lot of improvements going on. Dead trees removed and most were trimmed. Water hazards were cleaned up and managed well. New ownership and putting time and effort into improving the course. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Never Again
First off, this is robbery. Stop charging people 60 dollars with a cart if you aren't going to use the money to improve the course.
I was suckered into playing here unfortunately and I won't make that mistake again. I've never seen a course in worse conditions. There are ZERO fairways or tee boxes. Its just a mish mash of dirt, weeds, and "rough". The greens are cut extremely short so they don't get burned out. Here's a fun tip for the owner. Buy a hose and try to water the grass.
We pulled up to a hole and saw that there were new cart paths being built. Another fun tip, cart paths are the last thing you should be worrying about. Use that money and get some water on the grass.
The course layout is right on top of each other, so be aware of flying golf balls. Lord knows they will come right for you. Also be prepared to have obnoxious groups of people consistently yelling during your shots.
Lower the price to what this course is actually worth, which I would cap at around 10-12 bucks.

First off, if you don't know what you are talking about, don't give a bad review, I have been going there for years, and they are spending a lot of the money improving the course. Water has been and always will be an issue in that it is in a flood plain causing some areas to never allow grass to grow. Love playing there... if you won't go back, more available tee times for me!
Terrible Conditions, Zero effort or care taken.
This course was a joke. The fairways had massive patches of dirt, the tee boxes were just as bad and the greens were cement. To make things worse the yardages were way off by 70 yards a hole... took a 6 iron out on a 200 yard par 3... hit it 50 yards past onto another hole because it was really 160. Slow play... ranger didn't care. Don't waste your money.

Great value for the cost
After reading reviews expected to be on the course all day, pace of play was decent could have been managed better but not terrible. Cart girl was around with drinks frequently to make it better. Course was in fine shape have no complaints. Will definitely be making a trip back.

Condition
My wife and l have played the this course many times. We like the layout and the personal have always been friendly and professional. The course needs work and that is what is going on the new owners are really trying to make the course better and we see this with every visit.
