In pretty good shape
Tee boxes and greens were mostly fine. Some dry spots in a few fairways but considering out lack of rain and hot weather that wasn't a complete surprise. Some standing water in a few traps.
Good layout
First time playing this course and it was well maintained and a great course overall.

Nice Course
First time I've played there and had never even heard of it before the week before we played. Nice layout, very good course conditions and friendly staff. The greens were pretty well-kept (fix your ball marks people!) and not too flat but slower than I expected. It rained the night before but the person my buddy and I played with knows the course well and told us they're not much faster under normal circumstances (I kind of suck but I like faster greens). A little bit pricey (although not with the senior discount, but the people I play with aren't seniors) and a little far for me (45 minute drive). Definitely enjoyed the course and I'll pretty definitely put it in my rotation every summer but there are a number of courses just as nice for less or similar money closer to me (there are also many not as nice for similar prices). Some of that sounds a bit negative but it's definitely worth checking out if you've never played it (If I could have I'd have given it 4 and a half). I could see people loving it.

Affordable Golf Fun
Golden Pheasant is not a long course and is very playable for beginners, seniors ,and even good golfers. The conditions are always good, and the holes while quirky are all different and interesting to play. Pace of play can be an issue on crowded weekend tee times as it is a shorter course and things can back up,but they have a great staff and nice operation. Hope to return again soon.

After playing 3 holes the clubhouse sent out a scramble. tournament
It would have been appreciated and appropriate to let me know before playing 18
That a shot gun tournament would be starting on the fourth hole right in front of my group. Really rude.
Never again will I play Golden Pheasant in New Jersey. Usa

I expected more
For the price you pay for the green fee.. I expected a lot more. The course had decent challenges but also it’s fair share of easier holes. The condition was absolutely brutal. It didn’t matter where you were (Tee box, fairway, rough, greens) there was cicada killers and their hives everywhere. I would’ve expected better maintenance for the price.

Course and Staff re great
I chose GP as my home course because of the following:
Brian the Golf Pro is one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.
Ted the Head gourds Keeper and his crew keep the cause in the best possible condition.
Karen and Cindy run the restaurant an impossible hard job and do a superb job and the food is always excellently prepared.
The volunteer staff go out of their way to make every round enjoyable.
I play 100 rounds year there and always have a great outing.

First Rate
It was my first time playing this course and I was pleasantly surprised. Got out early so the pace was exceptional. Fun yet challenging. Thanks to the guys I was paired with I was provided with all the information needed. Greens rolled true and the rough was manageable. Highly recommended.
