Harkers Hollow Golf Club

About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

1st time
Good course. Slow pace, though. Only negative was that some of the sand traps actually had some big rocks under the sand and I chipped a piece of my sand wedge off on one.
Can't beat the price. And a good overall play.
Very good deal. . . Pace of play this time was excellent. Will be playing again for sure.
Great Course
I played the course today with a tee time at 1:50pm. This is the second course I’ve played in the area with a driving range so I was very happy about that. The course was beautiful some patches on the course were washed out, but overall it was playable. The cart paths are being worked on, which is much needed, but once the patches are fixed then the course will be incredible. The pace of play is 4 hours 18 minutes, me and my friends finished in 4 hours 10 minutes as newer players learning the game. The people on the course were friendly and the best part is they have cold water coolers on both the front and back nine. Would recommend this course to anyone who wants some good golf for a great price!
Course has great potential
This is my first time playing here in over 2 years. This course has great potential and some great challenges. It use to be private and it looks like the pool and amenities are pretty nice of course I didn't use these. For the course it has a nice layout and some well placed hazards but it really needs to some major up keeping. there are several areas that are washed out with no grass. A few sections of chart path is either missing or too rough to drive on. All in all the course was in fine shape. Greens were aerated but in good shape. Several traps were filled with water and could be kept better.
Good mountain side course
This course had a lot of parallel fairways meandering along the base of a small mountain. The fairways and greens were in pretty good shape except for a fairway or two that had been washed out. The rough was rough
Fun day
The course was in good condition for late March The greens, the fairways and tee boxes were all in good shape. The sand traps were full of fresh sand. Not many people on the course today because of threat of rain (it never rained) so we played the round in 3 1/2 hours. Very nice course. Friendly staff. All around great day.
Course in amazing shape for early march. No wet areas, even on mountain holes 14 and 15. Greens were soft and furry but rolled well, just had to hit ‘em harder. No tee markers yet and bunkers ungroomed, but that’s understandable. Just happy they’re open and playing again.
