About
River Vale Country Club (formerly known as Bergen Hills Country Club.) sprawls across the gently rolling hills of northeast New Jersey. It has been ranked on Golf Digest's list of "Best Places to Play," but it still manages to remain one of Bergen County's most well kept secrets. You'll hardly ever run into crowds on this golf course. The layout has a classic design that incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Tricky uphill and downhill lies will be your biggest challenge on this layout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk beside the greensides and there are several holes where water hazards come into play, including the par-5 fifth, which has a lake on either side of the green. River Vale a tight golf course that demands accuracy and while it's not overly formidable, your skills will definitely be put to the test.

Worth the $$$
River Vale is a little more expensive than the others but you definitely get what you pay for. First, the carts are awesome. You can clean your irons after each shot. They are also very comfortable, bucket seats and good shocks provide a smooth ride. Rangers are clearly visible. Doing their thing… Driving range that literally tracks your shots. Putting green, of course. Challenging but fair track. Very professional, friendly staff that make everyone feel like a VIP. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Great River Vale 1st experience
Our 1st River Vale experience could not have been better! The staff was very friendly. Course was well kept. The people who we played with have played at River Vale before, so they guided us along each hole. Bad weather came in halfway through our round and cut short our day. We were given a credit towards our next round. And Jay could not have been friendlier. We could not have been treated better. I think we found our new favorite course. Thank you!

River Vale CC is a true gem, it's got a private club feel and has so many different types of holes which make for a very fun round. The conditions are excellent, especially considering the volume of play and you will love the service you get from the amazing staff. Put this course on your list - you won't be disappointed!
Great Golf Course!
Great golf course. Great variety on holes, grass was well maintained. Friendly staff, restaurant as well as snack bar for the turn. Has a great time!
Country Club Experience
Hopefully my first of many times playing here. From arrival where the staff took care of our bags and prepared them for our round. We then grabbed lunch in the restaurant which was great as well. The Top Tracer Range is a feature I have not seen at most places. You are able to get all of your stats before the round on the high tech range. The course itself was challenging with multiple elevation changes which lead to a fun mix of holes. The course is very playable for any level with not a ton of water hazards on the course. The course was in amazing condition considering all of the heat we have had the last few weeks. Can't wait to play again!
