About
River Vale Country Club (formerly known as Bergen Hills Country Club.) sprawls across the gently rolling hills of northeast New Jersey. It has been ranked on Golf Digest's list of "Best Places to Play," but it still manages to remain one of Bergen County's most well kept secrets. You'll hardly ever run into crowds on this golf course. The layout has a classic design that incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Tricky uphill and downhill lies will be your biggest challenge on this layout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk beside the greensides and there are several holes where water hazards come into play, including the par-5 fifth, which has a lake on either side of the green. River Vale a tight golf course that demands accuracy and while it's not overly formidable, your skills will definitely be put to the test.

Rivervale CC is awesome. Great course. Great management and staff. Great food and bar service.
There’s a lot of new golfers out there. I respectfully ask, If you play here. Please fix 2 divots for every one you make on the fairways and greens… Keep pace and don’t touch other players golf balls in play. That’s all I hope for. Come with respect so this and all golf courses can stay beautiful for us to enjoy this great game. Have fun !

One thing about this place , always nice and they greet you with class, the course is in great shape and if u get right deal jump all over it !!!!!!
Beautiful place
The course was in great condition. Greens rolling incredibly. I got a hole in one on the par 3 #14th hole. Definitely recommend giving this course a try.
Best public track in Bergen County
Love this place! Came back for my first round here since Covid, and they’ve done a bunch of improvements. They took some trees down, and added some amenities, as well as renovated the range.
Best conditions I’ve ever seen there, and the course is looking beautiful.
Bar and restaurant are also great for a post round drink.

The course was in great shape.
Somewhat hilly course so there are uneven lies even if you hit the fairway.
Played in a two some, — the starter should have sent us out, instead a 4 some went to the first tee.
There was no one ahead of them. We waited on virtually every hole.
Some golf course etiquette would have been nice from the 4 some.

Great course, but definitely on the more challenging side.
Great Course
The course was in awesome condition, only thing is that it’s a little tight and most groups are hitting into your direction or fairways. Didn’t get to finish 18 because of sundown but will definitely be back because it was a great course.
nice layout. thick rough
Very busy course, a little bit of waiting throughout the round. If you miss the fairway the rough stops your ball and it can play very long. greens in great shape, course overall in really good shape. Challenging but basically fair.
Horrible course
One of our member was hit by golf ball from some beginner golfer.
You should be careful and see around before hitting you ball.
Goof ball in the golf shop
After waiting 2 hrs and 2 buckets of range balls the goofball in the Pro Shop told me he gave away my single t time to a member. Wasted my hole day.
Old man should run for President with that type of management.
Great Course, High End Facilities, Reasonably Priced
Great Course, High End Facilities, Reasonably Priced. Maybe seen as expensive compared to other local course but the experience is worth the money. Great staff! Clean, up to date and charming club house and course facilities. Course itself was beautifully groomed and maintained. After my round, I asked to be put on the members list, there’s a 4 year wait and I understand why! Get there!
