Rockleigh Golf Course - Red/White

Hadn't played this course in many years. First, it was just so refreshing to be out again doing something I enjoy after being locked down for the past few months due to Covid-19. The course's new rules to aid in preventing any spread of this virus were more than adequate and did not really take away the fun of playing. The only negative was that the sand traps were in poor condition. That said, the tee boxes, fairways and greens were perfect! Looking forward to going back again and highly recommend this course.

Very Interesting layout with a variety of shots. Precision off the Tee is rewarded with shots to the green. Rough is tough? Enjoyed the curse and will play it again.

With the exception of three holes which were being aerated, the greens were in exceptional shape - especially this late in the season at a public course… The staff has really done a nice job keeping the course looking very good. Never played this one before, and found it to be a fun track, with some long par 3’s, and some very creatively designed holes. Would definitely recommend this one…

No course cleaning at all. Animals poops everywhere even on the green and staffs ignored

Overall, good experience on this course. I did see rangers out and about, though i felt like they were camping in certain holes. Bunkers need to be upgraded on sand. Greens are average. Need more water on fairways but overall layout is excellent especially from black tees. Bit of a challenge in my view. I would suggest playing black and enjoy the layout. Value wise I think this is a good course.

Cart path only, and one nine closed because of rain day before. Would have helped if had known this before showing up. One golfer had knee problems. Course in good shape otherwise, and somewhat challenging. Certainly long enough. Pace of play could have been quicker, even with cart path only. Some world class putters (in their minds) took an inordinate amount of time on greens. Did not seem that they were pushed at all, even though a couple of holes were open ahead of them. Loof forward to getting back in cooler weather, and less soggy conditions.

I was pleasantly surprised by this course. Hot deal always helped but I have to say course condition overall was very well maintained. There were several rangers which I think helped the pace as well. Only downside was the green condition. It was in good condition, but it was very slow and uneven from hole to hole. With that being said, for a muni course, I enjoyed the layout very much, and I suggest trying back tee to add some challenge to the course. (+6800 yds)

Stay away unless you like to putt on slow, spotty greens

Poorly managed course, starter doesn’t know what he’s doing. The greens were in horrible shape, I used to play here a lot couple of years ago was my favorite track of county courses. Shame on this place cause layout is pretty good and they just let it go to crap. Players unfamiliar with course save your money & time....Play elsewhere !!!!!

Poor pace. Finished in 5 hours as a 3some waiting on most holes. The greens are in the worst shape i have ever seen them here. Many holes the greens were terrible hard to explain how they can allow this to happen and charge what they do. Spots on the green were completely devoid of grass like putting through a minefield

Played her last year. This year visiting a friend. Greens were very bumpy and not true..will look for another place. No bargain here.

After many weeks of considerable rainfall Rockleigh is greened up and down to only one temporary green (8). For a municipal track this is pretty good. Challenging in spots. Fun to play for sure. Greens not great but not bad at all.

I hate to be negative, but this course was by far in the worst shape of ANY course I have played on in the last 4 years! I have played in the Bronx in December and had better greens. The greens were so bad, half of them had bald sand patches on them. The once that were "normal" were like putting on velcro. The rough was not traditional rough. It was not maintained, cut or uniform. The rough was like playing on an unkept backyard. It seams like everyone walks at this course. I used a cart and the round was still over 5 hours!!!! Course could be nice, however it is maintained like garbage. To top it off they didn't even have a logo ball in stock for my collection. Won't be playing here anytime soon

So sad that this course has been so poorly maintained. The greens are awful with severe damage to the grass throughout the course. Golfers should receive some kind of alert or warning about the greens and temporary tees before making a reservation or even when checking in.

First, its been a terrible golf season. Rain, rain and more rain, or brutal hot, no in between. considering this, I enjoyed the course. they do have a bit of a drainage problem on some holes and some of the greens are in tough shape but the track is interesting. I'm looking forward to the summer. the pro is friendly and accomodating. the facility need a cleaning and upgrade, the bathroom and lockers are right out of the 1950's. I wish they electric carts.

Never play at this course again. The course was in horrible shape and the pace of play was extremely slow.
