Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Good course, would recommend
The course was in good condition and there was a good pace of play. I enjoyed using the driving range before my round. The greens were on the slower side but I give them benefit of the doubt because I’ve played here before and that was not the case.
Played here many times over the years. (Early 80s) Course drains very well. Played after.50 inches of rain the night before. Never saw a puddle anywhere. Just as nice as Monmouth County courses. And a bargain for Seniors. People are wonderful here. Just a beautiful course. Got an 8:30 Tee time the night before thanks to Golf Now!
Quail Brook Golf Course
Played 6/2/24 with a 12:00 tee time. First time playing Quail Brook or any of the Somerset County Public Courses. 1stly, thank you for having a range. I play many public courses in northern New Jersey and many of them don't have a range. The tee boxes were in excellent condition as were the greens. Most fairways were wide open with few obstructions. No water to deal with here, only bunkers. Many greens were protected and accurate shots are a must. Staff were helpful and friendly. Not much in the way of concessions but a hot dog truck in the parking lot got us through the round. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking for a well maintained course that provides a challenge.
Cart broke down
We paid for a golf cart and it broke down hole 6. We called the office many times but no one ever bothered to answer. We then pushed it to the side of the hole and told them after we wrapped up the front 9. Instead of an apology or thanks, ranger jokingly said we probably broke it. Considering we had to carry all of our stuff, I was a bit baffled he’d make a comment like that. Would have a walked and used a push cart if I had known they were this accommodating. What a classy staff!
Can’t go wrong with any of the Brooks in Somerset
Always enjoy my experience at Quail Brook the course, and its layout is above par to say the least i play here as often as possible
Good Course
A Good course. Not too long, not too short. Has a driving range. Pace of play was great. Started round at 3:30 and was done by 7:15. A minor shortcoming is that there is limited / no food or beverages available on the course.
Will be back
We started on the back, per the starters instruction.
It looks like that may be the case on Wednesdays .
The course is in excellent shape.
First time at QB this year, and it’s better than I remember it,
No water coolers on the course
Enjoyable course and good facilities
Enjoyable course with an above average pace of play. The driving range with a practice bunker was a nice touch. I hope to play again soon.
Good shape after lots of rain.
Greens rolling nice - slower but greens still challenging.
