Mercer Oaks Golf Course - East Course

Have played at Mercer Oaks dozens of times over the years and have always enjoyed it. Was last there 2 months ago (end of June). It’s almost inconceivable how the conditions of a course could go downhill so quickly in such a short period of time! It’s almost as if no maintenance has been done at all, other than mowing. The tees are a mess, the traps are a mess (totally unraked with all sorts of weeds in most), the rough is just a blanket of crabgrass and the greens are a joke (hadn’t been mowed for days and the aprons are either nothing but dirt or have been allowed to grow in with crabgrass). It’s almost criminal how they have let this course deteriorate — and my biggest fear is that they’ve lost it to the point that they might not get it back to where it once was. It’s that bad, folks. Yes, they’ve recently aerated the greens and tees - I’m not talking about that. The lack of maintenance is just so obvious, you have to wonder if anyone is minding the store. I don’t know what’s going on over there, but golfers should be advised that this is not the same course you’ve come to know and appreciate. This was my 66th round this year, played over more than 30 courses, and this was BY FAR the worst conditioned course I have played. Golfer beware. P.S. They also have no water coolers out on the course - make sure you bring your own!

Second group off in the morning. Always friendly and cheerful in the pro shop. The greens keeping staff were busy and cordial. Just a pleasant experience overall, thank you for delivering great conditions.

A couple of the best county courses I’ve played. I travel 48 miles one way once a month to pay these courses.

Course in great condition, friendly staff, and beautiful weather you can’t ask for much more.

Didn’t play here last year because of covid even though we play there 6-8 times a year prior. Still a good course. In great shape and a fun layout. Hopefully it stays in our rotation.

Always fun and challenging. Enjoy the East course. Has some length and holes where you have to hit controlled drive. As it seems with all courses these days, ball marks all over the greens, but that’s just inconsiderate people.

How about learning some golf etiquette, people!

Nice open layout but watch for the fescue/high grass around the greens. Greens were in good condition and ran at a decent speed. Bunkers didn't look in the best condition and the fairway and rough looked like they missed a few days of maintenance. Kind of shaggy in the fairways but not a huge deal. This is a good course and would be outstanding with a little more attention to detail.

Course can play long, especially if the wind is up and in to you. Play the appropriate tee boxes for your level.

Course was in unbelievable condition. Greens were so smooth and true. Will definitely play here again soon.
