Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

its really nice course nestled in the hills overlooking West points Sony not long but not easy greens either you enjoy playing this
This course was worth the drive.
Choose this course last minute as a second round after reading some reviews in the parking lot of another course on a random day trip up from Long Island. The views on this course are incredible. The course is well maintained and it was well worth the drive (even in hindsight after 2hrs of traffic on the way home). Tremendous elevation changes (the 2nd hole in particular) and breathtaking scenery from start to finish. The course is challenging, but plays fair. At the very least, it is worth a play just for the experience. I would highly recommend giving this course a try.
Great Views - Very Challenging
Garrison GC overlooks the Hudson across from West Point and has some awesome views. the course is extremely hilly with huge elevation changes tee to green. Front nine is narrow but back nine has water in play on a few holes. Super friendly staff and nice conditions. The greens were lightening fast! One of my favorite courses and doesn't get much play so the pace is fine, you'll move right along. Definitely go check it out.
Course is great for any player
Greens speed was fairly fast.
Bunkers had ample sand and maintained.
Rough is at fair height.
Tee boxes are well maintained.
Fairways are cut and maintained.
hills and slopes
greens very good , fairways good and tee boxes need work. Rate of play very good 4.5 hours. If you like hills and side lies, this is the place. Beautiful view of Hudson River and West Point. I will go back and play this course again.
This course was good for the price
This course was great for the price. There was a lot of leaves around, but they were removing them. Pace of play was good the course wasn't crowded
Nice Course!!
We played as a twosome at 12:40pm on a Friday. We had a $29 rate including a cart. Good value and fun course - beautiful views and challenging layout.
The greens were soft; fairways and tee boxes well trimmed and the starter was helpful. The walk from the 9th green to the 10th tee looked to be a doozy! We will return!!
Nice golf great view
I've played Garrison about 10 years ago and played it yesterday. It was better than I remembered! Stunning views, of the Hudson and West Point, great fall foliage, green fairways and big soft greens that hold. It's a bit up/down and side hilly but not too bad. At 65 bucks on a Saturday, it's a must play.
Fair course, challenging greens
I thought the course was fair for the average golfer. The greens are challenging and make for adventurous putting.
Garrison Is a great Course.
The views, fairways and greens are fabulous. Such a fun course, hit it straight and you are in good shape. Errant shots prove costly on most holes. Side hill lies and turning putts can be expected here. a fun course to play always!
challenger
great coure,,, great view,,, but challenging :D staff was very frindly ... i will be back for better score
Very Nice Course
Play was very slow, no Marshalls out on course to help speed up play. Needed better signage on some holes for directions. Other than that it was a Beautiful experience.
A true Gem
I had heard quite a bit about this course for some time. After having finally played it I can understand what the hype is about. The grounds are taken care of beautifully. The views are amazing and most important the course is a good challenge. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful mountain and river views + Great Golf!
The Garrison Golf Club is a great chance to hit more fairways if you bring a good hybrid or hit long irons from the tee. Even on the par fives, 2 easy hybrids can put you in wedge range. The "irons only" driving range and chipping/putting green gives you the chance to warm up properly for what lies ahead. The slightly narrow fairways and doglegs are much more accessible with a relaxed swing. At 6400 yds with well placed water and bunkers, this fun golf course will keep you thinking and coming back for more! The back nine starts with a par 5 and good chance for birdie. There's a view from the tee on the back nine that is fantastic with mountains and the hudson river in the distance. We're going back to enjoy the trees changing colors this fall. Speaking of enjoyment, the restaurant offered a very good burger and other very good choices with friendly service. A cold beer after the round relaxing with your foursome while taking in the incredible scenery makes for a perfect day at Garrison Golf Club.
Nice course
Course was in better shape than when we previously played. Weather was excellent. Over all a good challenging course. Had a great time. Not so much the round but thats my fault
ONLY PLAYED FRONT NINE DUE TO AERATION. PLAYED FRONT NINE TWIC
COULD NOT PLAY BACK NINE DUE TO AERATION. I DID RIDE THE 10TH THRU 18TH WITH A CART JUST TO ENVISION THE COURSE LAYOUT. SUMMARY, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL GOLF COURSE. BREATHTAKING VIEWS. WHEN OUT ON THE COURSE, YOU REALLY CAN'T SEE ANYTHING UNATTRACTIVE. OBVIOUSLY, VERY ANXIOUS TO PLAY THE BACK NINE. SENIOR TEE BOXES ARE SIGNIFICANTLY CLOSER TO PIN THAN REGULAR TEE BOXES.
Garrison under maintenance.
Course under maintenance right now, you Can only play using the front nine, greens are bumpy. It will be helpfull if notice of course closing is available through GolfNow as well???
Excellent experience!
I've played Garrison many times over the years. I used to think it was unfairly hard, but as I've improved my game I now find it challenging but fair. It sports beautiful views of the Hudson and West Point, and has a great variety of holes. No 2 holes are the same. Highly recommend.
