The fourth is a narrow driving hole that ends on this well-guarded green. Only 310 yards, this is the #5 index. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
7th, par-4, 331: A typical Tillinghast green is of moderate size–like this one. A moderately difficult hole, but a good one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The eighth is a par-4 of average difficulty, but missed shots still lead to trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
Ten, the #1 index, plays uphill over its 409 yards to a relatively small green. The large falloff behind this green can bring about short-game woes. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
11th, par-4, 402: On this layout, Tillinghast’s holes retain their genuine parkland character, along with a classic aura not far afield from his famous courses. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The sixteenth: Ron Cultip set this excellent par-5 in an open area, making this 498-yarder a tempting opportunity for big hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
2nd: Par-4, 393. First of three holes on the difficult “Cat’s Claw.” The green can’t be seen from the fairway’s landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
3rd, par-4: Another tricky Tillinghast hole. The Cape design features this marshy hazard curving all the way from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

5th, par-5. The driving zone is relatively open, but your second may cross the stream and must be precise. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
16, par-5, 498. Terrific hole that encourages you to slam a driver and another long club on the second. Hittable in two, for some. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
18, par-5, 570. On the second shot, the fairway’s safe side is the right, which better opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

Another view of 18. As classic as the Tillinghast holes on the front side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

New Tees Coming In Great! Photo submitted by Golfguyswf on 08/15/2018
Good but needs better care
I’ve always loved the layout here. And hadn’t played it in a couple of years. It’s pretty for sure, and there have been some improvements regarding eye appeal. But the greens are notoriously slow. And a couple of them are in tough shape. T boxes need help too. They should be dead flat and with good grass cut close. The fairways are OK but the grass is so so mix of stuff and should be better for a Fairway. The cart paths are in rough shape and one is washed out in part—dangerous. It’s a par three that overlooks a pond. That said, you can still enjoy the course because you get to use a lot of different clubs. And the price is right.
Beautiful Course and Very Nice People
I had a great time playing here. I played with a great group of guys. The course is well kept and the food and drinks were delicious. Charlie in the pro shop is a very nice and welcoming guy!
Very nice golf course
For the lack of rain the course was in great shape. Tiffany keeps the course in good condition despite the time of year and weather. The bartender, Ruth, was very friendly and went above and beyond. We will absolutely be returning.
Terrible
The course is is terrible shape. Dirt tee boxes, no grass. Greens are torn up. They charge you $64 for a sandlot. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Fun Track, Great Value
Course was fun, challenging and staff was great. Pace of play was great - sub 4 hour round. Like most courses in area the lack of rain was evident but still played well. Great value for $. Will definitely be bacl
Terrible condition
Played many courses in the surrounding area and this place is far and away the worst condition we've seen all summer. There's league play a couple times a week so I think they're making money. Just obvious that none is being put into maintaining the course. Fairways dried out and chopped up. Tee boxes nothing but dirt and sand. Bunkers unplayable. Greens slower than my back yard. Too bad because the layout is fun and interesting with 4 sets of tees.
Great public course!
Great layout by one of the OG American golf architects. A.W. Tillinghast also designed Bethpage, Baltusrol, Winged Foot, and many others.
Fun Course that’s getting better
This is a very fun course to play and is seemingly getting better with work to improve the course obviously being done. For example, some of the tee boxes are in great shape, some not, and some clearly under repair, which is encouraging that soon all will be in great condition. The greens are in decent condition, but quite slow my last visit. Pace was great…played 18 in 3:27. Staff was very friendly even when I asked for a repeat of the incredibly long beer list. I only give 3 stars because it just isn’t a 5 star course and, for that matter, hardly any courses are. It is a solid 3 with potential to be a 3.3-4 star course.
