Rained out
Beautiful course , friendly staff , unfortunately the heavens opened up after 4 holes heavy rains that wouldn't let up. Staff would have given me
a rain check however I booked through tee off and there's is absolutely no way to contact anyone. Will play this course again.
It's no longer "Lazy"
Name change to just "The Swan". Wonderful day to play. Greens had been aerated a few days before so.a bit bumpy. Glad to see they are doing their part to keep this gem in 4-5 star rating.
Great to be back
It's great Lazy Swan is up and running again. We played on a warm day in late November and the course was in good condition for this time of year. The fairways were dry and bouncy but that is because of the drought. Greens are relatively fast and the overall experience was very good. New pro was friendly and easy going.
Course has a lot to offer
Layout of this course offers amazing elevations and scenic overviews. Great staff and pace of play is always under 4 hours. Course is in great shape even with ongoing drought. Not a drawback but be prepared to deal with a lot of bunker shots as I’m told there are 144 on the course. After a round, the patio bar is top notch as well. Overall, great value and a favorite course of mine.
Lazy Swan
Lazy Swan was excellent and a great value...We enjoyed it.....
Back for another 18
Played here about 2 months ago. Have not changed my opinion. Will look forward to returning next season.
Still Great
Love the course! Best one in Ulster County in my opinion.
So close to being 5⭐️
The Lazy Swan was a fun layout.
Short @ 6200 from the blues.
Conditions were slightly worse than I expected.
Tee boxes are pretty beat up this time of year.
Greens had been punched about 10 days ago, which is understandable. They were running pretty slow, rolling at about 7-8 on the stimp and it looked like some of the cups hadn’t been moved that day and were a little furry around the edges. Also saw some dead/sandy spots on a few greens.
With a few more years of maintenance and grooming, the conditions could easily be back up to a 5 star rating.
Overall a fun track, and at $42 with a cart on GolfNow hot deal, it was a great price, and I would definitely play it again.
A four man scramble could be a lot of fun on this track.
Great track - needs TLC
What a great experience I had at the Lazy Swan GC. The course layout is a lot of fun and fair. The staff was superb - I was greeted in the parking lot by an attendant to give me my cart, the desk pro asked if I had ever played there before, which I said no, and he took me outside to give me the course info and routing. He checked my booking with Golf now, which was an absolute steal after I used my 10 dollar off coupon and points I have accrued for a green fee of 17 dollars with cart. Amazing! The course was recently reopened after a 5 year hiatus to turn things around with conditions. Here's my critiques - the white tee boxes were pretty chewed up and uneven, there was very little to no sand in the traps, and those same traps were not trimmed and weeded. The greens were still a bit bumpy from aeration and there were some sloppy conditions on some of the fairways from overwatering. I will cut them some slack here as the lack of rain during the Summer and now into Fall has taken its toll everywhere. I will definitely recommend this course wholeheartedly and I would hope attention to these details will raise the bar to were they want it to be. There is great enthusiasm from everyone working there. Speaking of bars, the property has wonderful facilities with a huge outside bar under a large tent and a sign that pointed to a raw bar? Really?? Fantastic, if true! There is a charming village and a huge tent for events. The staff was getting ready for dinner when I finished at 4 pm. My tee time was 1:30. Yeah, that's right, played in 2.5 hours on a gorgeous Thursday afternoon! It's a bit of a drive to get to the course on skinny, winding roads, but its worth it. Just go! It's a beauty with fantastic views of the Catskill mountains. Just needs a little TLC.
Amazing Course
Challenging and beautifully cared for. You can eat off the fairways they are so well cut.
You need a finance degree if you use a golfnow pass ?
Course was awesome as well as the staff. The golfnow pass only works for convenience fees.
Friends hyped up course
My friends loved this course so I decided to give it a try … lots of water … some holes were confusing … didn’t know where the green was … we played 18 holes in less than 4 hours … never had to wait … didn’t have people behind us pushing us ….overall it was an enjoyable day
Course has made a nice comeback from my trip there a few weeks ago. Must have been the hot weather, but the course seemed beat up. This time it seemed much more manicured, could make out fairway cuts, tees were ok and greens were in great shape. Nice layout ofhomes. Very scenic.
Staff was great! As a single they sent me out in just the right way that I finished in about 2 hours.
