Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Solid track, local knowledge helps with tricky layout and greens
Due to slight rain, course was practically empty. Despite this, still finished the round in 5 hrs and 15 minutes due to being stuck behind slow players. Anyways I love the layout and design. It's a short track with various dog leg turns and elevation changes. Fairways are moderately wide and friendly. Very good course conditions especially for a public course. Just another great playing public course in Suffolk county Long Island.
A great day. The course was in great shape and not crowded. The greens are healed from aeration.
Worth the drive to play
Driving through aresidential section of Kings Park NY, you wouldn't think you would come across a golf course of this quality. This course isn't long, playing less than 6200 yards from the back tees, but what it lacks in length, it possesses in shot accuracy. Can you score on this course? Of course. Can you be challenged? Absolutely. Miss your target and a bunker will grab you. Miss a fairway and you could be down a cliff. The almost 600 yard Par 5 4th will grab your attention with its dogleg right that dips into a valley before it climbs to the green.
Smithtown Landing
A very pleasant experience for a public course, condition of course excellent and at times challenging. Only disappointment was the driving range
Good course pace of play is suspect
Always enjoy playing at Smithtown Landing but occasionally the pace of play is very slow and they don't do a good job of sending out a Ranger to pick up the pace of play. Need to do a better job on conducting the pace of play at the course you shouldn't have to play a five hour round.
Need to work on pace of play , can't send out three twosomes in a row . Course is in great condition
Thanks to the starter
I was playing single. The starter didn't just throw me in with the group that booked the same tee time as me. He gave me the option of going out with a group that was similar in age and experience. Playing single doesn't mean you want to play alone with three other people. Thanks!
My foursome got off a half hour early and we completed the round in four hours and 15 minutes. The cart was questionable as to whether it was going to make it through the 18th. Overall, excellent play and value for the money.
Eel
Course was in good shape. Greens good. Pace of play good . I'll be back to play again. Thanks
All but one
Course is in great condition.
Only downside were the water coolers on the course.
There was grass and dirt in a few of them.
Besides that the course is great to play on and in good condition.
Interesting layout
Played this round in the afternoon which I've never really do, which says a lot about the slower play. The Greens were a little beat up, they were a little bumpy I didn't find them to be true. Other than that it was pretty good I would recommend this course
