Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Nice course Great staff
Played this course in the past. It has great contour. Greens were a bit slow but to be expected with the lack of rainfall we have had on Long Island. Pace of play was excellent. I am a 12 handicap and the white tees were a good choice. The ladies don't get a big break on most holes.
Smithtown Landing Course needs a ranger.
The landing golf course was in very good shape and is challenging but not terribly long. No starter so people go when ready and as a result the course backs up on the second hole. We had to wait on every hole and we were a threesome playing behind a twosome. The ranger rides around in a cart and just waves from a distance as he does not want to hear any complaints of slow play. There is a shack after the third hole and as usual it was closed on a beautiful sunny day. Can't Lessing's find some young person interested in making some money for a few hours. The halfway house was open and the hot dogs are pretty good with an assortment of refreshments and snacks. I have played here many times and my only real complaint is the pace of play otherwise a very good golf venue.
Great for the money
One of the best LI courses yet one of the least expensive
Nice hilly course
The golf course is in good shape but the greens are very slow
Bring a rangefinder
The greens and fairways were excellent. Needs sand in the bunkers. The course could use more distance markers. I was playing with a twosome that didn't have a gps or rangefinder so I had to keep giving them their yardage. I didn't mind but it was time consuming. The pace of play was slow but I don't blame the course for that. A ranger spoke to the slow group ahead of me and they picked it up a bit. I will definitely play here again
Good for its 3 stars
3 stars is just about 4ight
Good Bones
The course has a nice layout. However, the pace of play was terrible. There was a marshall but he said nothing and he did nothing.
Great pace of play
Course layout and conditions were excellent.
We finished the course in less than 4 hours.
Smithtown Landing Review
Very nice course, challenging. Many uphill/downhill holes. Plays longer than the yardage indicates!
Great greens!
This course has a little bit of everything I think you will enjoy it!
SCENIC COURSE
NICE LAYOUT, GREENS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE BUT SLOW, SOME HIGH TEES GIVE NICE VISTAS, ALTOGETHER A NICE DAY.
Nice!!
We will be play next week. My friends like thie course.
Good layout
The course is not long which is great for the average golfer. You need to play smart to stay out of trouble. It's in the best condition ever at the moment.
ANOTHER GREAT DAY !
Yes it was another great day ! Went out as a single The other golfers in the group were pleasant and friendly The course is in good condition greens were inconsistent and yes they are undulated The tee boxes to my surprise were uneven the fairways were good for this time of year with all the un seasonable weather we have had all in all I would give the course an 8 out of 10 and I would play it again a little later in the season
Good to go back after many years
Greens were spectacular, fast and a lot of breaks.
was frustratingly enjoyable.
Pleasurable experience
This course has a little bit of everything. Challenging, yet fair. Variety of long holes and short holes. Lots of character to this course. Looking forward to next round their!
Great shape and a good challenge
Smithtown Landing GC is always in impeccable shape. Good to above average golfers will find the course more challenging from the blue tees. Michael Hebron Sr. hall of fame golf instructor teaches and manages the course. Very reasonable price esp for Smithtown residents.
For the right price
Smithtown Landing is a nice course for the value. The Layout is nice and the greens were in excellent condition. The overall course is well maintained. Would definitely play here again.
Good for expert

Tiny greens!
The course left much to be desired. Low rate facilities. Tiny greens. Go elsewhere.
