Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

All but one
Course is in great condition.
Only downside were the water coolers on the course.
There was grass and dirt in a few of them.
Besides that the course is great to play on and in good condition.
Interesting layout
Played this round in the afternoon which I've never really do, which says a lot about the slower play. The Greens were a little beat up, they were a little bumpy I didn't find them to be true. Other than that it was pretty good I would recommend this course
Smithtown Landing golf course
Smithtown Landing golf course is awesome every hole is different nice layout an old country club from the 50s and 60s
Great course for the price
Course is kept in very good condition. Staff is friendly.
Well Run Municipal Course Easy Straight greens
This course is a municipal course that will appear very busy when you pull up to the parking lot. The course shares the parking lot for the community pool and day camps.
It is a long walk from the parking lot to the course.
The practice facility is very basic.
The course is somewhat hilly. All the greens are easily read by any beginner. Overall it is an easy course and worth the money.
Nice views
This is not a long course, but it's challenging, lots of tree trouble, some extreme elevation changes, and while the rough is fair missing fairways can be costly, with OB on many holes. The greens are very nice and perfectly fast, the views are beautiful and the staff is great, I highly recommend for the price, but don't be fooled by the yardage or the course rating, this is a tough test for most.
A Great Round
Had a wonderful round despite 95 degree weather. This worked in my favor keeping people off the course. The staff is always friendly and let me out before my tee time. The course was in wonderful shape. Had my best round ever despite a triple bogey on the 18th. The 18th is the sharpest dog leg left you have ever seen. The pace was great and completed in under 4 hours.
Course condition is great
Course condition is so good it felt like I was playing a private course. No two holes are alike and the whole layout was very interesting. Not overly long but with the elevation changes it's very challenging.
Exciting cours
An exciting cours with many different layout of the holes. Much up and down. Some chort holes but challaging. Very dood condition on the cours. Frendly staff.
Very nice course
First time here. Really nice course, good shape. Greens were good. Very few bald spots. No bag drop which was annoying. Pace was fine except for one group in front which was super slow. Marshall did nothing.
Very nice municipal course
Smithtown Landing belongs to courses which are hilly, so it offers spectacular views and interesting game. Course offers a yardage book for free which is always very helpful especially for first time players.
Fairways relatively wide, but often tilted which might lead to challenges in the mid game.
Course was generally in excellent condition, greens were reasonably fast. It is not allowed to ride golf cart to the parking lot so take your golf bag from your car and walk directly to the proshop.
nice course
This is a very nice playable course, wide fairways and not too much trouble. very well maintained
and the greens are favorably fast and true. no water holes and surprisingly no view of the Smithtown bay but
this does not detract from the course. Excellent value for the money. Plays a bit like a mountain course
and that makes it interesting but not more difficult. I will definitely play Smithtown Landing again.
Having nothing to do with the on course play, they have a very convenient half-way house after the 9th
green but by all means DO NOT opt for the hot dog. Talk about mystery meat.....otherwise, all good.
Beautiful course, slow play
This was a beautiful course with elevated greens, sloping fairways and expansive views. Maybe it was due to the windy and cool conditions, but the pace was extremely slow and on some par 3s there were three foursomes on the same hole! Yuck! I will give it another try, hopefully on a much warmer day.
Interesting course in very good condition
The pace of play was very good. The course was in very good condition with lots of rolling hills and ups and downs. A pretty layout and Greens were on the fast side.
Fast play
The course was in good condition for early in the year. Greens were fast and the pace of play was excellent. Would recommend it to other golfers.
Fun course, great layout.
I loved this course. Several of the holes have shortcuts off the tee for those who can get the ball high enough over the trees or shape their shots.
The first and last hole are examples where you can take a direct line to the green and cut off 100+ yards of fairway.. I bombed a draw over the trees on 18 and left myself about 50 yards to the hole and it was a lot of fun. It'll be interesting to see how feasible some of these shortcuts are once the trees grow leaves.
The greens are moderate and very fair. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more bunkers on this course. Overall I think it's a great course with a lot of very interesting gambling and scoring opportunities.
First time at Smithtown CC
The greens were in bad shape. Fairways for okay. Can't believe some people didn't dress propperly. Gees I guess in public golf courses you can play in your pjs. I was paired up with a older women and older gentleman and his son. All very nice people. Enjoyed there company. I know it's early in the season Hope they put money into this course. Good thing is this course was wide open and no water hazards.
