Better
They are finally fixing this place. It’s looks much better then it’s been. Some tee boxes still need TLC. Happy to start going back.
Parched
90 degrees out there today and no water on the entire course. , yes 90 degrees and no water. Thanks
No food?
Like, couldn’t even get someone to cook hot dogs? Weird.
Interesting and fun layout, rough greens and bunkers
Interesting topography and surprisingly quick round for a public course near the city. For the most part the course was in decent shape, save the bunkers, which were in rough shape. Overall a good, fun place to play.
$65 and the greens are being aerated (no notification of that) and most of the tee boxes (especially the par 3s) are in horrible shape. Hole 13 i had to hit a wedge shot over 5 workers and their carts fixing a bunker at 12:30 in the afternoon. First time out to this course for the season and was not impressed with what i consider the best public course on the island.
Course description
The tee boxes were in good condition, I really like the wide fairways, the greens were in good condition. There is always room for improvement but overall I give this a four star rating.
Course condition
Pretty muddy due to Friday's rain. Green just had aeration, it was tough to putt.
Not good
Waste of time and money. Pace of play was awful and the course was terrible shape. Didn’t finish 18 cause it was so bad.
Need of some serious upkeep
I totally understand the staff might be light since the covid -19 breakout however the course was poorly maintained. Even for this time of year, it is usually in much better condition. It happens to be one of the better courses on SI and to charge that kind of money didn't feel like it should have looked that way. From the branches, to the poop, lack of water, hole signage , to the lack of sand in the traps, to the grass length it was rough. No Snack bar open and the women's bathroom was disgusting.
Frost Delay
There was a frost delay so they pushed everyone back 45 minutes. The course was packed and only played 15 holes
The course although we are technically still in winter is covered in geese poop! This is an ongoing issue at this course and they seem to do nothing about it. The greens were in great shape!
