Never Disappoints, Nice Course
I've played this course numerous times and it never disappoints, the fairways are trimmed shorter than usual so finding your ball isn't challenging, lost only one ball. You will love the greens they're in spectacular condition, the 10th hole never looked better, it always disappointed. I would recommend this course to intermediates and experienced as well.
Decent Routing with Good Movement
The course is OK, gets a lot of play due to lack of golf in NYC and huge population. Turf conditions are as good as can be expected and the holes have good variety.
Solid Muni
My first round here since early spring and the course is in very good shape. Pace of play is generally slow here since the ranger just seems to drive by. Our round was 4 1/2 hours.
The course has wide fairways and the rough isn’t long so unless your under a tree in the rough the penalty for a stray tee shot is not severe.
The price is a little high but the ability to get a weekend tee time in the morning is what gets me to drive from NJ.
We tried to call the grill on the 8th tee to order lunch but the clubhouse had trouble transferring the call and in the end no one picked up. They really could be more effective at check in and the grill.
I have yet to use the driving range which gets a lot of use.
No value here
I get that greens need to be airrated but every green was unputtable. To charge full price and make no mention of it is a disgrace. It’s poorly laid out very little challenge except for having to hit off hard pan and put through a plinko board. Never again
Pretty good for a city course
1) Has a driving range to warm up on, which is more than you can say for most Public courses near NYC.
2) Layout feels like you are always driving the ball downhill, which is fun. Lots of long and straight Par 4's.
3) Fairways and rough could use a little TLC. This course could actually be a top tier course if they put some money into the landscaping, clean up the tee boxes, plant more trees along the sides of the fairway or behind some of the holes (a miss hit shot is going straight into the road / someone's windshield)
4) Bunkers had a ton of dirt & gravel in them. Cant get under the ball if all you have are rocks an inch under the sand.
5) Cart paths look like they haven't been repaved in a decade, was a bumpy ride.
6) Greens were aerated on my date of play, which they really should tell you about ahead of time, or knock a few dollars off the greens fees.
Overall had a great time. There was rain in the forecast, but it didn't rain... which meant the course was empty. Pace of play was no problem, and really had a lot of fun. Course could be something special if they put a bit of money into it.
Nice track
Course was in pretty good shape considering the recent aeration. Went off at 11am and fished under 4hrs and the weather was perfect. Traffic is horrific if your coming from the north. I’d definitely comeback
Course was alright
Course was alright. Pace was the best i ever had there
They won’t give you the membership discount if you use GolfNow to book the T-time
Needs management
The pace of play is very slow and It starts with the starter who doesn’t manage the start. Sending off threesomes when there were singles that could fill out a foursome is unexplainable. No ranger on the course to keep things moving. 2 hours 50 minutes for front 9.
No drinking water in the course nor ball washers. At 75 degrees winter is over.
Just feels like no one is running the course.
Course is very fun but I’ll try others before coming back.
S L O O O W
It took us TWO HOURS 50 MINUTES to finish the front nine. There was no marshall getting groups to keep pace. There was no beverage cart. It was miserable. We waited on literally every single tee box - 18 out of 18!
Great condition, stuck behind morons
One of my first rounds for the season. We were behind a 4some that had an instructor who gave them all lessons on the course. If that wasn’t annoying enough, the instructor himself was bad. He put balls into the woods and in the water like he didn’t know what he was doing. They would stand around each person’s shot before going to their own ball and then proceed to wait for the instructor to show up and coach them on the shot. There was no group within 2 holes in front of them. Never waved us through. Made the round super long and super annoying.
Over priced for winter with the conditions. It had rained the night before but it was a free for all with no cart path only rules. Course was definitely not up to par with their maintenance with multiple lies being unplayable. Maybe this course would be better in season but there's a lot to be desired especially paying winter rates over $60. $40 at most for winter is more reasonable
Asleep at the wheel
If there were "winter rates" for playing there, I still would not go back. The fact I payed $60 is my fault; the fact there is literally more geese feces than blades of grass is theirs. Practice green was completely covered as was the whole of the course. Generally i'd have expected more effort as temps start warming up however, their groundskeepers must still be hibernating....oh and whats the point in having a tee time if everyone goes out whenever they please....hindsight is 20/20
Nice course but over crowded
There were people everywhere, they ran out of carts, how is that possible?you wait and wait more.its painful.zero joy playing a Staten Island Course.play in Nj or elsewhere.seriously,Thankyou
Excellent conditions,
Very slow pace of play because of a group in front of us. At first there was no place to past as it was crowded but after 9 holes the group fell further behind so we skipped the 10 th hole and just passed them
Time of play 4 hours & 45 minutes
Too long!
Fabulous greens
Greens in best shape i've seen (granted par 3's take a good deal of punishment). Pace of play is always an issue here, course should be proactive, reactive. Overall very enjoyable round, minimal leaves for this time of year.
Nice course
Played a foursome midweek. First time here. One of the nicest city courses ever played. Well cared for overall and forgiving fairways. Mostly par 5s and 4s with a couple of 3s. Only one water hazard, but numerous sand traps. Will surely be back.

Usually most people don't mind if you ask to jump ahead, specially is there's two hole gaps,, I've gotten stuck many times if there room for forward movement I don't even ask,, if they complain I'll just say the course should be monitored so this does not happen,,,
