Pace of play
Pace of play was good till the 10th hole when the course lets groups start on 10 also on the 1st hole was backed up over an hour delay cause of over booking.
Held up on Staten Island
Inexcusable items that if you notified golfers they wouldn’t be an issue.
1. Full price for a course covered in sand and aeration. They were even aerating the fairways during play. ( I understand that this needs to be done. However other courses warn you when you book. ).
2. Not one ball washer on the entire course. It’s mid April - and they are charging summer rates.
3. Pace of play - under 2 hours for front nine. Slowed to snails pace on the back. 3 groups magically appeared on the back. Does the early bird back 9 end at some point? Waited every shot on the back.
It’s a great lay out - probably my favorite on Staten Island but they know they have you so they take full advantage.
Atrocious
First time writing a review but experience was so bad it needs to be heard. Awful course, staff provides zero help and they still have the audacity to charge for one golfer out of a foursome not showing up. Range wasn’t open for a 8:20 tee time. Pro shop wasn’t open so had to wait 20 minutes in line at food area to pay for round. No starter. Save yourself the completely overly priced $75 round and find a different course.
Too Close to Rain
Overall the round was enjoyable factoring in the time of year and after a heavy rain. Played at a pace of 4 hrs & 15 mins due to cart path only, watery conditions, lift clean and play
Good course
Enjoyed the round, play was fast, played as a 3some. Impressed with the greens, big, alot of undulation, visually challenging, surprising slopes. Fairways appear narrow but open up beyond tee box. I enjoyed the course and am looking forward to playing again soon
Please Bring Back The Ambassadors
It started pretty smooth but after the 7th hole things got very slow. I was hoping someone will come along to move the playing pace. Huge disappointment and waste of time after the 12th hole I left, I didn't see myself continuing in such a slow pace,,,, it's a great course but slow playing pace.
Slowest Round of the Summer
Possibly because one or more of the other Staten Island municiple courses had outings scheduled, today's round at LaTourette was excruiatingly slow to the point that 9 holes took 3 hours. This is a shame as the course was in great condition.
Quality Municipal
The pace of play was the only major issue I had here, but important to keep in mind I was playing on a weekend. The conditions were better than what I expected. I enjoyed the lay out of the course overall.
Not bad!!
Course I’m awesome condition, but pace of play was horrific.
LaTourette at 10:37 am
Got off on time and played 18 without any lengthy wait. Four or five tee boxes were spotty to bare. Those were seeded, not sodded, and the seeds were pretty well trampled. Otherwise greens are running nice and true. Basically, a nice track in good shape.
Terrible experience. No starter. I realize it is early in season but they are charging full freight. No signs on holes. Worst part of all was there was literally crap ALL OVER the course. I am not exaggerating.
