Sanibel GC
The pro, Drew and the lady that checked me in were both great! Very informative and helpful!
The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were far from perfect, but reasonable when you consider they were covered with salt water for months!
Enjoyed the course and the experience!
Playing on Sanibel Island at high season was a treat
The staff was friendly and accommodating. A little crowded on the front 9. Wide open on the back.
If you are a high handicap player like me, bring a lot of balls for the front 9 - many opportunities to lose them.
Back 9 is a lot more forgiving.
Greens were incredible.
Fairways not so much. We had an agreement that we could pick a ball off of the mud and place on the nearest patch of grass.
All new greens
For those who haves played this course in the past few years you will recall the poor condition of the greens. This has been corrected with brand new greens on every hole.
Now you appreciate the contours of the greens and consistent green play for the whole course.
Improving
Staff among the friendliest anywhere. Tee boxes were in good shape. Greens were in excellent condition. They are working hard to get their fairways back after Ian ruined them. This course and staff deserve our support to recover and ensure that there are golf options on Sanibel Island.
Still not back
Always liked this course, but it has not recovered yet from Ian.
Trying to come back
The course really was damaged by hurricane Ian. They are trying to keep it running and I admire and applaud their efforts. The greens are in great shape , the fairways are very beat up. Nice layout and if you think about the greens fees helping with the recovery, it’s worth it. Pace of play was fantastic, finishied in about 3 1/2 hours
Ian Hurt this course
After going through a 500 year storm this will course will recover once they get their fairways back. Green were in outstanding shape. I will go back and play it again. Course layout was outstanding. Staff we top notch
Recovering from huricane.
Greens are beautiful , layout is challenging , fairways are still recovering and patchy.
Disappointing
Sanibel is still suffering from last year’s hurricane Ian. The course is rough… lacking grass on the fairways. There are no bathrooms anywhere on the course and the one bathroom in the pro shop has no doors. There is no food or water available.
The bridge to the island is backed up with traffic and construction. It took way too long to get both on and off the island.
I wouldn’t have minded if they had offered a very discounted rate. $80 is too much for such poor conditions.
Sanibel golf course
Great course / layout , amazing green , great pace , yes fairway need help due to Ian storm but you always can find a piece of grass to hit from ,.
All consider it was great day , even a scrach player would enjoy it !!!
Good Course
Excellent greens but fairways are still recovering from hurricane. Good value on Sanibel.
Great greens
This course fairways are recovering from hurricane but greens are in great shape. We would golf here again.
Phoenex rising
Coming along great ,super new greens
Fairways slowly coming back!
Great value
Will be back soon!!!
Recovering from Hurricane /Greens are Excellent
This place gets high marks for making lemonade out of lemons after the hurricane. Greens are awesome! Fairways not so much. Grass on fairways hasn’t recovered all the way so sometimes you just have to lateral out of dirt into grass. Drew and crew are great! Drew sends you a text the day before you play explaining you need to bring your own refreshments and beverages………yay, how many golf clubs tell you that! It’s out of necessity though, no beverage cart, no water on course and only restrooms are in club house. We played here a couple times then went to the other golf course on the island and while the other fairways were in better condition they have their own lingering hurricane issues and they charge 40% more. All in all I highly recommend Sanibel Island Golf right now. I know they will eventually get back to normal but I really like the way it works now.
Great Layout Getting Better
This course is thankfully coming back nicely after the hurricane. Greens are outstanding. The pro is working hard to get everything in tip top shape.
Still recovering
Greens are pretty decent all things considered. Fairways probably need another summer to be back to its former glory. But considering the cost of a morning tee time in season, this place is not a bad option
