Vacation
Ian beat the course up pretty good and Helene didn’t help at all. Nice layout, the club house guy was very accommodating .
As well as can be expected!
This course has been through three hurricanes in the last two years. They are actively rebuilding as fast as possible. I will play again and again to support the efforts, the back nine is in better shape than the front but the original design is still there and if nothing else creates a little more challenge staying out of the salt damaged areas. Drew is wonderful to work with give the course a try.
Course was in great shape
From the moment I arrived on the property I had an incredible experience. The clubhouse staff was awesome and made sure I had a yardage book as it was my first time playing the course. No driving range, but the putting green was great to warmup on and hit some chips as well. The course itself was in great shape too. I was a bit worried about the conditions after all the weather in the area lately and while there were some low spots with excess water I would say a majority of the course was in mint condition. The greens were awesome, the tee boxes were solid too. I’m only in town for a week so I doubt I’ll play it again, but if I’m ever back in the area I’ll definitely have to play again.
Nice course in recovery
While the fairways and landscaping are still suffering hurricane effects, the greens are pristine. It was a very pretty course to play with lots of avian wildlife and iguanas.
Great course even with hurricane damahes
The course layout is great and the greens in good condition. At some points the fairways still need some recover from the last hurricanes but it’s worth to play this course and help the people getting this great place to fully recover
Staff was extremely friendly!!!
Perseverance
The staff is friendly and honest. Course is making a comeback from Ian, Helene, and Milton. Support their efforts to keep affordable golf on Sanibel!
Lovely course
Given the hurricane’s that have been through recently, this course is in the best shape it possibly could be. Was a pleasure to play and a real challenge.
Considering....
I have not played this course since IAN. Decided to play and support local while on vacation. Considering the amount of damage caused by the storm, I was very pleased with the facility and the course. Asked the owner and course manager about the remaining damage, and got a thorough explanation of what they were doing to correct the remaining issues. Both, owner & manager were present and working diligently to fix the issues!
Very PLEASED to support those that provide us relaxation and serene places!!!
Recovering, but will take time, fun little layout
This course was badly damaged two years ago during Hurricane Ian, as was all of Sanibel. The greens have been nicely recovered, are in good shape. Tee boxes are iffy, still being repaired. Fairways hold a lot of water when rained on, slow to drain. Thus lots of standing water and damage, some dirt areas. Paths are sand covered over broken concrete and being worked on it appears. Overall a fun short track, has a ton of potential once repairs are completed. Is worth the price to help the, recover, staff super nice, if minimal. Times to play are readily available. While this can return to a very nice facility, and is trying, has a ways to go. But come out and support their recovery…
Yikes
It's been 2 years since Ian. There's no excuse for the condition of this place. It feels abandoned. No signs, no course bathrooms, no water or anything! Why even bother opening back up?
Yikes
It's been 2 years since Ian. There's no excuse for the condition of this place. There's no signs, no water, dead trees just laying on the course. Where's the effort? This place looks absolutely deserted.
Playing Sanibel after a big storm
All in all this is a great course, we played right after a big storm that brought 3.5 inches if rain. The course had standing water throughout.
Greens where amazing. Enjoyed playing this course even under the not optimal conditions.
Greens good, Fairways bad
I was warned the fairways on this course were still in very bad condition as it recovers from Hurricane Ian, but I was not prepared for just how bad they were. This was in stark contrast to another nearby course on the island which was in very good condition. The greens were in very good condition, which was strange given the state of the fairways and tee boxes. Not much traffic on this course and I was able to play by myself without seeing any other golfers.
