Could be great
This course has potential. Course layout is good, greens not to much, truly a mess. Personnel are cordial, very nice. Understand it’s Sanibel and you have a captive audience, but pricing is out of line.
Lower the price to $60. a round, work on the greens, get an affiable ranger to Gabitz abit and keep things moving, operate a refreshment cart (charge fairly/tips will flow) and you will have more foursomes, grow reputation and generate more revenue. Tieing reasturant and bar more to course experience would generate more business as well.
This could be one of the most popular and liked courses on the area.
The greens were pure sand, one green out of 18 holes was not covered in green sand
Sad
The course layout was very nice challenging and narrow unfortunately the greens were horrible and most tea boxes and fairways were also
We played Tupac rule because the greens were so bad
Expected a better manicured course for the price
Greens were having an issue, but we were told this prior to going out.
Fair and enjoyable
My wife and I have played there 3 time in the past two weeks. Very friendly staff as well as meeting nice couples to play with. A practice range would be nice, but understand there is not a lot of space available. The greens are in terrible shape, but the course has signs advising you in advance of checking in. So fair warning. Overall, very enjoyable.
Poor Greens
Very nice golf course. Very convenient if you are staying on Sanibel/Captiva. Unfortunately, they had severe damage to the greens in 12/21 and they have not recovered, especially the front nine. Some greens are completely unplayable. In their favor, they offer a full refund if you want to quit after 2 or 3 holes. There are not many options on the island. Also, the restaurant doesn’t open till 11 and there is no beverage cart. Just water fountains. Still it’s a really fun layout and we had a great time
Worst ever
Horrible conditions
Greens were all sand
Course was muddy
Waste of time and money
Not advertised as being unfit to play
Resort island
Farm field
Worst course of my life
They should be embarrassed to call this a golf course
There were no greens
Made tee time on golf now and NO INDiCATION that there was a problem with the course
Not just the greens that are just tinted sand but the course is wet and spongey
Don't waste your money
Worst course I've ever played
I'm 72
Bogey golfer
Worst ever
The owner of Sanibel should be embarrassed to be open let alone charge $110!!
The course was muddy and rough
The "greens" were nothing but green tinted sand!!!
I work on a course and wouldn't play if my conditions were alike
I drove an hour and a half to a famous resort island and would firmly suggest to everyone " don't go"
Waste of money
I'm a bogey golfer
Fun course.
It was a fun course to play but you needed to place your shot because it was not a long course.
The greens was the disappointment.
The had a disease. Made them look like sand traps.
Not worth 1/2 of the price we had to pay
This was the only course in SW FL had a noon tee time available 7 days before we wanted to play. The greens fees were in the middle of the range for the local courses, but we’re high enough that I expected the course to be of high quality.
The staff was outstanding, and pace of play was good. However the greens were in terrible shape, and they were recently sanded recently. We were not made aware of that until arrival. The staff said we could get our money back if we decided the course was too rough.
We were in town on vacation and we really wanted to get together with friends to play. This course gave us that opportunity, and we did have a good time.
All in all I thought the course was over-priced for it’s condition. However, I am not from the area, so maybe I’m being too severe in my review. The staff was very nice.
SANIBEL 2.22.22
Fun course, very friendly staff. Unfortunately, they have had some issues with the greens. Between the weather conditions the last 2 months and the water the city was supplying (lots of salt), the greens are in tough shape. They have identified the issues and are addressing them as best they can.
Poor value
Paid $120 for a very mediocre round of golf. A sign was up stating that the greens were in very poor condition and you could get a refund after a couple holes if you wanted it. Should have told you before you made the drive to the course. Greens were covered in sand/fertilizer. Other conditions were fine, but the course is really nothing special. You can play much better courses for cheaper in the area. Only thing great about the course is the wildlife you can see, since a few holes are next to a particularly busy waterway. Wouldn’t pay $120 to golf here again.
Greens what greens
The course was fine for a resort course but there was very little grass on the greens instead a fine powdery layer on the green surface. If it’s a herbicide or fungicide we should have been told. I do not know what it is.
not worth the money
while this course is surrounded by a beautiful natural setting the course itself is in extremely poor condition. One green was actually puttable. tee boxes were beat up and fairways had multiple sparce patches. The club itself should be embarrassed to charge the rates they charge (I paid $126.00 for 18 holes with cart). GolfNow should drop this course from their website!
