Sanibel Island Golf Club

Played in 20-25 MPH winds and it played long. Other than a couple of rough greens that were under repair it was a very enjoyable course, I’d play it again.

Short course but I understand for the location. In very shape condition right now. Almost all greens are nice except a couple working on it.

Well worth the GolfNow price and just beware of front 9 water hazards... Overall this course is a gem for any vacation time away from whatever stressors you're dealing with.

Back 9 has several wide open fairways but watch out for those nice residential homes!!!

I played here a couple of years ago.....Man, what a difference. Owners and entire staff have transformed this golf course. They are still working on a few greens and fairways, but overall this course is in really great shape. The starter and club house staff were very friendly and helpful. I was paired with a couple of members, Chuck & Lisa that were preparing for a upcoming tournament. Great company, conversation and course knowledge.

When I return to Sanibel, this will be my first choice for golf on the Island.

Perfect conditions. Course was in great shape. Understand from local, course was not in good shape for a couple of years. It was in great shape when we played. The greens were good, not as fast as the grass was cut higher., because of the heat. Wouldn’t call it a “resort course” as it has som3 really challenging holes. A fun course to play, and the pace was 4 hours.

The other Public Sanibel course is the Dunes. Water everywhere. The pro told me the record of lost balls is 60 for a round. Hit it straight.

This might be the worst conditioned course i've played in a long long time. There was no mention of green issues prior to arriving- showed up and there was so much sand on the greens there was no reason to putt the ball. Even if the greens didn't look like the bunkers except with shells they're really really really flat. Got paired with two nice enough guys who I don't think have ever broken 120. Very short course but longer than Dunes. Pretty boring day hitting hybrid and 4 iron off the tees leaving nothing more than a 9 iron in. #11 could be a par 3, and 18 is most certainly not a par 5. Definitely not worth $100+. Find somewhere else.

I played this course about 3 years and wasn’t crazy about it. Played w a visitor and really enjoyed it. More challenging than I recall. Nice greens not too fast.

Teed off at 10:30 on a Saturday, played in 3.5 hours. Pace of play was great, Tees and fairways are in great shape. They are doing a little work on a few greens but they will be in good shape in 1-2 weeks. Played here the past 6 years, best condition I have seen it. Still have some work to do but they are certainly headed in the right direction.

This course was in embarrassingly rough shape. Fairways full of dead grass, greens were under repair and the workers blocked the greens with utility vehicles. Some of the bunkers around the greens were gray dirt. I paid a premium price to go to a premium course and it was trash. I really wish I went ANYWHERE else to play a round of golf. So disappointed. Poorly managed...

There was alot of wildlife and the views were nice once you're off the course.

Overall very nice course layout with lots of open space yet trouble with a nonfavorable shot - the greens are on the smaller side yet pretty forgiving but roll very slow. A driving range or even practice net to hit a few balls before the round would have been nice

Great experience- friendly staff, excellent pace of play, great layout. The only negative were the greens. They hadn’t been rolled after aeration and many had moldy, sandy areas.
