Nice Course
The fairways are in great shape. The greens are a little worn in spots but not enough to impact one’s round. The course has some of the smallest greens I have ever played.
Nature Lover's Course
What a nice place to spend a few hours. Birds, gators, jumping fish, iguanas, beautiful trees and flowers, you name it - you'll see it. This is a fun course. It's not too difficult, but it's not a walk in the park either. The conditions were great if not for a spotty patch here and there on the green - not a big problem. If you hit it straight you'll score. If you spray it you'll be wet. That simple. I read a review of a complainer. I'd suggest that person is missing the whole point. It's Sanibel not Kiawah.
Nice experience
Nice course with a good restaurant and friendly staff.
The course is very challenging
The course had narrow fairways with a lot of water hazards. I will definitely play here again and would recommend this course to others.
Challenging and beautiful
The fairways and rough were in great shape. The greens were in good condition with a few that had several bad places on them. Overall really nice course with friendly staff. Most of the holes were very similar not much difference between them hole for hole. Mostly straight with water on either the left or right but. I would definitely play again.
Great day golfing
This was the first time I’ve played this course and really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it! Course was in pretty good shape, checkin was quick and easy; staff was friendly to. Fairways were in good shape, there were a couple of spots that they are replacing the sod on but did not affect play. Overall great course and worth the money!
Not a bad course
Not a bad course. It was challenging and had a great layout. Fairways were in great shape. Greens however needed some help.
I would play the course again though. The staff was nice and very helpful getting us going out first time there.
Decent course
Played in 20-25 MPH winds and it played long. Other than a couple of rough greens that were under repair it was a very enjoyable course, I’d play it again.
Short but nice
Short course but I understand for the location. In very shape condition right now. Almost all greens are nice except a couple working on it.
AWSOME COURSE!!!
Well worth the GolfNow price and just beware of front 9 water hazards... Overall this course is a gem for any vacation time away from whatever stressors you're dealing with.
Back 9 has several wide open fairways but watch out for those nice residential homes!!!
Island golf part 2
I played here a couple of years ago.....Man, what a difference. Owners and entire staff have transformed this golf course. They are still working on a few greens and fairways, but overall this course is in really great shape. The starter and club house staff were very friendly and helpful. I was paired with a couple of members, Chuck & Lisa that were preparing for a upcoming tournament. Great company, conversation and course knowledge.
When I return to Sanibel, this will be my first choice for golf on the Island.
Sanibel gem
Perfect conditions. Course was in great shape. Understand from local, course was not in good shape for a couple of years. It was in great shape when we played. The greens were good, not as fast as the grass was cut higher., because of the heat. Wouldn’t call it a “resort course” as it has som3 really challenging holes. A fun course to play, and the pace was 4 hours.
The other Public Sanibel course is the Dunes. Water everywhere. The pro told me the record of lost balls is 60 for a round. Hit it straight.
Worse than the $15 muni back home
This might be the worst conditioned course i've played in a long long time. There was no mention of green issues prior to arriving- showed up and there was so much sand on the greens there was no reason to putt the ball. Even if the greens didn't look like the bunkers except with shells they're really really really flat. Got paired with two nice enough guys who I don't think have ever broken 120. Very short course but longer than Dunes. Pretty boring day hitting hybrid and 4 iron off the tees leaving nothing more than a 9 iron in. #11 could be a par 3, and 18 is most certainly not a par 5. Definitely not worth $100+. Find somewhere else.
