Sanibel Island Golf Club

It was good to see the conditions of this course improving and the overall experience- a definite change in what we experienced last year. Staff and new owners are very accommodating. The club house has had some nice improvements, especially the bar-lounge. A course Marshall should be on the course at all times and speed up play as it was a slower round than we anticipated. A beverage cart would be a nice addition. All in all, the new owners are on the right track and I would recommend this course and will definitely be back.

Since I work at a Jersey golf course I find myself being a little critical, but can't be too much with t h is course. The new owners are getting this course back to where it should be. Great job guys !! The challenge is there but not to rough for the average golfer !! I enjoyed it the few times I played while spending time in Sanibel!
Most definitely will return !!

I've played Sanibel Island Golf Club in the past before the current ownership (2 yrs) and at that time was very dissapointed in the course condition. The greens were horible back then and in need of serious attention. Aprpearenrly they've given it. The greens were in very good shape and well maintained. Now the club needs to improve the tee boxes. They are quite beat up.

Very welcoming team from bag drop through after game snack.
Problem is, the course is really tired and tee boxes very scruffy.
The course is surrounded by water but the tee boxes and fairways are dried out and desperate for irrigation.
The potential is huge as the layout is excellent.

Overall course was good however the tee boxes need a lot of work as they were pretty rough

Very nice course, especially with the chance of rain -- it was almost empty. Finished in 3 hrs, 20 minutes. The greens are kind of small and have lots of interesting contours; they also putt quite true. The sand was nice and fluffy and served me up a "fried egg:" on one hole. I recommend playing from the Blue tees as the course is only about 6000 yards; except I recommend you do not play hole # 8 from the blues unless you can reliably carry 185 yards or so.

Course was at best low average. Give credit for the fact that it is under new ownership and positive things are happening.

Great course staff was exceptionally nice scenery and wild life was great dining facilities were extremely nice on par with an upscale restaurant will be back for sure

Course maintenance is lacking. Greens are slow. No practice range. Putting practice area is a joke. No ball washers on course.

Jean at Pro Shop was very helpful. Staff overall very nice. Course was very pretty - Greens were good but a little slow.
Overall my wife & I enjoyed this Golf Course.

Nice layout and convenient location if staying on Sanibel but expensive for just fair course condition. Greens are ok but fairways and tees need work.

It does seem like the front and back nines are on two different courses, but I was happy with less water holes on the back. Good value. Beautiful wetlands.

Nice course....greens a little slow...staff was very friendly....lots of bird life...would play again.

Island course with lots of challenges. Could use some improvement to greens and overall course. Will play again often due to location.

They really need to pick up their game at this course. The greens and fairways need lots of work. With so many courses to choose from in this area I would suggest you play elsewhere.

It is the second course we played on Sanibel Island. The dunes was in a better condition. Specially the tee boxes on this course were in a bad shap: the ground often not even, a lot of divots and poor gras.
However, the nature is great and we could observe a lot of animals.

For the longer hitters the course is more of a target golf course. There certainly are some fun and very challenging holes. There were some tee boxes that needed some work, but my biggest issue was the speed of the greens. They were some of the slowest I have played. If they work on those two areas I think more people would enjoy the course. The staff and facilities were top notch!

The greens were like fairways...slow & not green quality.,, the fairways were like a 1st cut of rough, not fairway quality...the bunkers were not maintained very well & the grass needed cutting. This is by far the worst course I ever played..

Narrow course with plenty of water, greens to slowly. Fairways, what kind of grass is that, if you find one? Fantastic nature, very nice people.
