Great Friendly Staff
This beautiful little course took a beating from recent hurricanes. Drew and his staff do all they can to make the experience pleasant and are extremely honest about the problems with the fairways ever since hurricane/ salt water damage. The greens are beautiful and the layout challenges you to strategize every shot. Be patient and understanding… I am certain they will do everything to hasten it’s recovery!
It could be great, but hurricanes suck
This course was decimated by the hurricane and has not fully recovered. It's a nice layout with friendly staff. Many of the fairways are barren of grass. A few of the greens are bumpy and in rough shape. Currently no water, ice or cold drinks. Once they recover this course is beautiful with its surroundings.
Sanibel Island G.C.
Good round of golf. The course is still struggling to rebound from hurricane couple of years ago (mainly some areas in fairways), but still very playable & challenging. If you're expecting pristine conditions, you'll have to go much further inland to a course that wasn't' flooded with saltwater. I'd love to play it again sometime when it gets back to pristine conditions. Lots of water to get into trouble, over swinging will cost you on this course. Play smart and you'll have great time.
Wait!!!
Super nice people at this course but after the hurricane damage they received it needs to be closed for a few months until repairs are done. A lot of the fairways are more bare than have grass and the grass that's there is bad. The greens look to be brand new and growing in and are very bumpy because they aren't fully grown in. Definitely not worth anywhere the $95 we paid and yes I did see the warning but did not expect it to be that bad. Once it's repaired this course would be awesome to play
Great Course and Challenging.
The course has come a long way since going through 3 or 4 hurricanes that put it completely underwater. It is a fun course to play and Drew is great to his customers.
I highly recommend playing this course; you will have fun and also enjoy seeing the local wildlife.
Mother Nature has not been kind
T box and greens are ok especially considering three hurricanes last year. The fairways are basically ground under repair but have enough grass to play from.
Better than we thought
Since the devastating hurricane in 2022, Sanibel golf club has worked hard to get back in playable shape.
Drew and his team are great people and are doing all they can to get the course back to its best. Good news is the greens are in good shape. The fairways are still a work in progress. At $95 it’s a decent buy especially being right on the Island. The staff is super friendly and are genuinely glad you are there. We will play it again soon.
Unfair to Review
It is unfair to provide an honest review of this course because the fairways and tee boxes are still recovering from the devastating effects of 4 consecutive hurricanes. The Pro was a gentleman and Marianne in the Pro Shop was very friendly. But between the traffic going over a rebuilt causeway and the poor conditions of the fairways and tee boxes, that the Pro contacted me on the eve of my round to advise me about, I think I will sit until the course returns to better form.
Best experience possible under challenging circumstances
This course has endured the wrath of mother nature. It is remarkable that the greens are in such terrific shape. The layout is wonderful. Please patronize them as I’m sure time will allow them to recover.

Ok at best
Played there last week after reading the message on the website about the course conditions due to damage from Ian but decided to play anyways. Fairways had lots of bare spots and the ball had to be moved regularly in order to find grass. Drives were carry only with no roll. The greens were covered with sand and not many pits had a true roll. I did not see any new growth of grass in the sandy areas of the fairways so I’m wondering why that is. The way I am seeing it is that it’ll stay this way for the next little while until they start seedingthe areas where there’s no grass. Had a good time though because I met great people and the weather was fantastic, but the course itself was below average.
so so
Paid $85 USD to play this course. Booked it because it seemed ok. seen the reviews and decided to play. I was even texted and was advised of the course condition due to the recent damage done by Ian. went to play it anyways .
The course had lots of dirt area and had to move the ball on most every shot, the drives were all carry and no rol and the greens had been sanded so there was never a true roll on most putts.
I understand the damage caused by the storm and all but the thing that I noticed was the lack of new growth on the dirt areas. I've been around golf a long time and I have seen numerous courses in the repair stage where new grass growth was seen.... but not this course!! wonder why that is!
don't get me wrong, I had a great day. Met very nice people and the weather was perfect so I can't complain but I just wanted to let people know my experiences and I would not recommend until the grass starts growing and improvements area made.
