Golfer Reviews
Best Greens in SWF
A handful of the fairways are still struggling because of damage from Ian, but it's not a problem to treat those areas as ground under repair and drop on the nearest grass. The greens are arguably the best in the area.
I play this course anytime I am visiting the Ft Myers area and love it every time.
Coming back from Hurricane damage nicely.
Really friendly staff, tees and greens in great shape. Fairways are coming along. I love supporting the folks out at Sanibel and Captiva
Friendly staff
Great course to play and understand the staff are doing their best to recover from the multiple storm direct hits to them. Really enjoyed playing here and plan to come back.
A great experience!
Really nice staff trying to recover a course which has been a little damaged from storms that hit the area. The best greens I have ever played on and most of the time you can play around the sand damage in the fairway. If you can play off season you can have the whole course to yourself which is an experience I can't recommend enough. Totally worth the fees.
Sanibel Island Golf Club offers a scenic and relaxed golfing experience surrounded by Florida’s natural beauty. With 18 well-maintained holes (Par 70), plenty of water hazards, and frequent wildlife sightings like herons and alligators, the course feels both peaceful and engaging.
Special thanks to Drew, who does an excellent job managing the course—we were even proactively informed about course conditions the evening before our round. Friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere make this a great spot for golfers of all levels visiting Sanibel Island.
We’ll definitely be back
Help bring this course back to what it used to be!!
You need to know going in that SIGC took major damage from hurricane Ian in 2022 and are still recovering. The fairways haven't come back and some of the beautiful views are gone. If you expect that, the round you will have will be like the one we just played - fun, still challenging, and fast. The layout is unique, the tees setup to make this challenging or manageable. and the greens were just immaculate, well maintained and holding shots in very well. We finished under 4 hours and visited with the very friendly manager Drew, who is doing a superhuman job keeping the course operational.
If you want an affordable, fun, and fast round give this course a try. We had a great round and still had plenty of time to visit several places on the island...
Playing from gold tees was very pleasant and greens were in excellent condition.
Post Hurricane Recovery
Course is a bit rough but certainly understandable, given it's still in recovery from the hurricane. When comparing it to other courses we played in the area it's comparable regarding the fairway conditions. Big plus is the greens are new and in great shape. Drew and Mary were wonderful hosts and anyone getting a chance to play this course should do so and help fund the recovery of this gem. Will definitely come back and play it again.
