Memorial Day weekend
They were running 10 minutes late on tee times. The little over 5 hour round was slow with sometimes three foursomes on ate box waiting to tee off. Many of the tees did not have grass on them. The fairways were thin. Greens were in good shape. The cost for a weekend was fair. Tight course but fair.
Why tee off intending to get a fairway lie with no grass?
Made mo sense to me why they have fountains at the club house but fairways so hard and void of grass you’d prefer to be in the rough!
You Get What You Pay For
It’s a challenging layout, and overall decent for the price. The greens are in great shape and roll true. The fairways are pretty good too, but have a little bit of catching up to do. Tee boxes are rough and very bare; but if you’re teed up, it doesn’t really matter all that much.
Great round
Great round. Haven’t played a round in 5 years and throughly enjoyed getting back into golf. I have always enjoyed the layout of Paradise Valley.
Dead fairways.
I hit into the fairway quite a lot, but there's no reward for hitting the fairways here. You end up with a dirt or mud lye. Wake up. You have a fairway grass growing problem. It could be a great course.
Large groups = slow play
Group of 6 players & 5 carts in front of us on front, skip 10 and go by them only to see another group of 6 on back, on a Saturday to boot...
Decent Greens but that's about it
The course is not in great shape. The greens were decent and rolled well but they were rock hard. Even with a short iron or wedge in, balls would not stay on the green and barely made a ball mark. Plus, the collars were like concrete.
The tee boxes were horrible and was difficult to get a tee into the ground. The fairways are a mix of green grass and dormant yellow which led to some really uneven lies, even in the center of the fairway.
Not sure what was being done on the fifth tee box but the hole has been shortened to about 260 yards dead straight instead of a 90-degree dogleg left layout. Was busy with a lot of waiting before each shot.
The course is fun and hardly has any water in play but doubt I will play this course again in the near future. Maybe again in the fall.
Nice
I haven’t played this course in many years but was reminded with this round of why I’ve played here before. The layout is great and the greens were great very fast. The fairways aren’t quite grown in completely yet but they weren’t too bad. The tee boxes are pretty much in the same boat.
Long narrow road to get there
The course was in decent shape. The Tee Boxes could definately use some work. The were not well defined and the grass was spotty at best. The greens were in great condition and the fairways were average. It might because its the being of the season (or not). I feel if you hit the fairway you should not be punished. The ruff was thick and challenging. I did not encounter any difficult players on the course and the pace of play was just fine, but I was there early before most of the crouds. Overall I enjoyed the view and it was definately in horse country. On the back 9 I got lost at hole number 12, the path was not marked well and drove into a neigborhood. Oops. Overall an OK course. I would play again for the views. One warning the road to get there was very interesting to say the least. Be safe and enjoy!!
Poorly run
If there was grass on the tees I couldn't find it. Half the fairway was dead and gone. We dealt with a 5-some teeing off in front of us (a 2-some) and literally waited 20 minutes just to tee off. After that our pace of play continued to ge an absolute crawl.
Greens in good shape, fairways starting to show a little green.
I always enjoy this course. Fun holes and open to a few miss hits and you can still play your ball. Great staff.
