Golfer Reviews
Improved fairways & putting greens..
I was pleasantly surprised of how the fairways and the putting greens have improved, I was at the facility earlier this year, and the difference is quite obvious you're able to hit the ball without hitting dirt the fairways were cut to where you had rough you also had mild rough to make it challenging if you hit it out of the play area of the fairway. It is a decent intermediate golf course with some challenges fun to play. The staff was respectable and nice no problems there overall I rate it three and a half to four stars it was fun I would recommend it to a friend.
One of the areas best kept secrets
Everything was great. Only hassle was the bridge that got washed away between 4&5. Other than that there were a few tee boxes in need of some tlc. Overall was a great experience!
Challenging Course, Poor Pace of Play
This was our first time playing here on a beautiful day. The course was well kept and challenging however it was way over crowded. We were paired with another group of two for tee off but they didn’t show. We finally teed off 15 minutes after our scheduled time and18 holes typically takes us right at 3 hours but this round took us over four hours. We sat a lot waiting on each tee box which was incredibly frustrating. At one point we were overlooking three different holes and counted 10 carts either playing or waiting on those holes and there was no Marshall to keep groups going. For the amount of money it’s not worth the time and the frustration.
Nice casual course
The course is always in decent condition but the staff in the nicest in St Louis!!
Really good course
This is a really nice course, with nice changes in elevation, trees, doglegs and other natural boundaries. A lot of the other local courses in this price range are much simpler in format which makes them less interesting as a player.
My only real complaint is between holes 5&6 where as a player you have to pay a lot of attention to not hit other players. Hole 5 has a dogleg left up a hill where if your drive goes too far right, or two far it will roll down and can almost get into the fairway for 6. The blue and white tees for 6 then have a completely blind tee down the hill where they can’t even see the fairway they’re trying to hit. What’s worse is that the bridge from 4->5 is out currently which means that players going to 5 are driving right along the end of 6’s fairway too
Nice course
The greens and fairways are in excellent shape. It was cartpath only the day we played so it was a little slow playing. Plus we followed a 5-some.
We really like the course!
Much Improved Will Return
Mike and the team have improved the course greatly since I last played a few years back.
Terrible Pace of Play
Round took 45 minutes over their suggested time. We tee’d off at 1:05 and ended at like 5:50-6. I wouldn’t suggest playing here unless you don’t mind waiting for every single shot.
Tall Rough
Narrow fairways with very long rough. Take a lot of balls if you don't regularly hit it in the fairway!
Car patg
Golf course was dry and good'but cart was not allowed drive in the course.Do'nt understand why not allowed drive in the course.I do'nt think the course not gonna damage when drive in the course.usally can not drive in when the course is wet and have problem.
New carts with GPS are an improvement
Was pleasantly surprised to see new carts and that they were equipped with GPS! Also, a few of the cart paths have been patched up with new asphalt but still broken up in many places. The bad thing was that on two occasions, we were on the cart path but the GPS stopped us as it thought we were somewhere way off it. We literally had to drive our cart in reverse to get to the next hole.
All that said, the course itself still isn’t very good but is slightly improved from the last time I played there. The practice putting green right next to hole 1 was barren and almost dead.
As usual, the greens were halfway decent. A few were bad and the fourth was nearly unplayable with three long strips of torn up turf. Tee boxes were flat out awful, the fairways were spotty and the rough was OK in spots but dead in other places. The tee boxes at 5 and 12 were redone, which was much needed.
It is an inexpensive track to play with a couple of decent holes. On a perfect weekend day, the course was packed but surprisingly we played in about 4:15!
